| Wellness small breed vs regular I plan on getting a German Shepherd in a couple years and was wondering if it would be okay if they were all on the same type of Wellness food, it's recommended by most people who've raised large breed dogs that it's not fed the puppy version of the food and kept on the food for regular adults. Our Charlie is already an adult. Just wondering if there would be complications from using regular food over small breed, he's lived on his own before (a coworker found him lost) for what looked like quite a while (had a LOT of mats and tangled hair) to the point of having to cut almost all his hair off... so I'm sure he's got a hardy stomach and pretty much went from eating garbage to grade A steak. So I would assume it would be safe to feed him regular adult food and then if any problems arise from it I could switch back... Of course I have plenty of time to learn about all this stuff between now and when we get larger dogs... But I love to research whatever I can whenever I can! |

| I don't see any complications feeding the regular kibble over small breed. As long as the small dogs aren't picky about having tiny bites. But I think Wellness has small kibble to begin with. Wellness also makes a great kibble called CORE. It's a grain-free, high protein diet. Hope this helps. Last edited by AMD; 06-17-2009 at 03:07 PM. |
