| Has anyone tried Chef Michael's by Purina?? Scooter had an unfortunate visit to the ER Vet this weekend. Long story short, he ate something (still unknown) that nearly killed the little guy. After lots of tests and procedures (including getting his stomach pumped), he is back to his happy go lucky self (THANKFULLY). The ER Vet recommended that I feed him wet food for a few days so that his body can adjust again. He is on Wellness Dry and we are super happy with that (I don't intend to change that). Anyways, I went to the grocery store (we are on vacation) to quickly get some wet dog food. They had a new kind, Chef Michael's Canine Creations by Purina. It had a resealable top which because we are on vacation and he rarely eats wet food was very appealing. I bought three cans (all different flavors). Scooter does not eat wet dog food and when I have tried in the past to feed it to him, has totally turned his nose up to it. I know he was hungry from not eating at the vet but wow....he polished off the entire can without even blinking. I made note that maybe it was just that flavor. A few hours later, I openned a second can (different flavor). He again polished the entire thing off. Last night, he ate his dry food and did ok with it. A little while ago, I openned up the third and final flavor. He devoured it. Has anyone else tried it? I know it is not the best nutritionally but as a supplement, it seems to get his vote. We tried two beef flavors and rotisserie chicken. I was impressed that there were whole vegetables in them (peas, carrots, and corn were all identifiable). He would have liked the can if I let him. The box at the store said they were new but I am just curious if anyone else has had a similar experience. We lost our leash while traveling to get here and PetsMart does not carry the food (I looked yesterday when I went to get the leash while he was napping). Albertsons of all places had it with like 6 flavors to choose from but not Petsmart....I dont get it but if you had seen Scooter eat the wet food, you would understand my interest. Does anyone elses dogs like it? Thanks in advance for responding!!

| I've heard of it and bought it. Jackson loves it! I don't know anything nutritionally about it - except I know Purina is generally NOT very good. But when it comes to wet food, I'm usually only mixing a bit in with his dry food so I figure a "treat" every now and then will be fine and won't hurt him. Jackson devours ANY wet food though so it's not any more special than the others I've tried, lol.

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | I have seen the commercials but never gave it. I make it a point to not feed any canned foods. I am not a big fan of the amount of preservatives that they have to use to keep it looking appetizing. I only feed Merricks BG to Zoey and Toby and supplement if I want with some grilled chicken or some fresh veggies.

| I saw it in the store on sale a few months ago before I saw the ads on TV and picked up a few cans. I buy really good kibble for Basil, but he won't eat it unless I mix in a tiny little bit of cr*p wet food. Anyway, he LOVED Chef Michael--all of the flavors. After a few days, he had REALLY smelly gas when he'd lay beside me in the chair. I mean like the most unbelievably stinky floofs. I went back to the old wet food.

| I'm really surprised that you didn't find any at petsmart. I work at petsmart and I know at my store we sell it. Maybe it just hasn't gotten around to all of them yet. |

| My Yorkie Has Had It Also I went to a Derby event back in May: Happy Tails, which was an event for dogs yearly. We met all kinds of dogs of all sizes and there were lots of Yorkies and Yorkie mixes there. Long story short, they have given out free samples of food and tons of other things. Chef Michael was one of the freebies. It was a small can and he didn't eat much to any before we left, but boy did he like it. He smacked his lips on that one |

| So Petco has it in some stores with more carrying it soon. We are now home and when I was at the Petco near my house earlier today, they said they had it and sold out shortly after it got there. They are waiting on more. I guess it is just too new and slowly making its way to stores. The manager told me that it was starting to be rolled out because of success at test markets. Now that we are home, I guess I will wait unti Petco gets more and buy it for my little guy.

Yorkie Talker | i dislike it i was giving my morkie this , & she loved it but its soo poor , like purina is so cheap all they know how to do is use by products and artificial colors , so long story short she loved it , but her body hated it , because she got itchy and im never changing her food , shes fine on old mothher hubbard cupboard creations, & merricks before grain chicken buffalo , there both 5 star premium dog food , check on dog food analysis , so shes a perfect 10 . |

I supplement canned foods to my dogs, and it is a 5 star rating on the super premium dog foods. It is made by nature, and can be found At Petsmart. This brand is high in protein, with no bad stuff in it. It is a little pricey though, but, Yorkies eat so little.
