| Switching to Wellness Ok so we're doing some shopping for Tyler today (such a spoiled little thing) and I'm switching him to Wellness. A few questions though... is Petco the ONLY place that sells it? There's one close to where we live but there's a petsmart right down the road so I was just curious. Also is there a certain type of Wellness to get? If not then what does your pup eat? Also since he doesn't eat that much to begin with should I just completely switch his foods or gradual? If gradual then how gradual? LOL! Sorry for all the questions, I just don't want him to get an upset tummy (= Thank you as usual for all the help!! |

| I am a newbie but after lots of research I have decided to switch my puppy to Wellness too. She has had Science Diet puppy bites from the breeder. We get her this weekend and from everything I have read I won't be changing her food at all for the first week. After the first week we will gradually mix the two foods until we transition completely to Wellness. For puppies it is the Wellness Super 5 Mix Just for Puppy. Petsmart doesn't sell it only Petco but there is a smaller Pet Store that sells it as well in our area. Maybe some smaller pet stores-not chains sell it in your area too. I think Petsmart sells the Blue brand which has a good puppy blend from what I have heard. |

| A lot of the local feed/ag stores carry the Wellness line, too.

I personally have never used Wellness, but have considered it and may in the future so I'm not really any help flavor wise. As far as transitioning goes, I'd probably do 75% old and 25% new for the first week, 50/50 for the second week, 25/75 the third week and then 100. If he seems to be doing ok while you're transitioning, you may not need to transition that long though. When I change Sasha to a new food, I don't really need to transition. She ends up always picking out the new food anyways, so I just watch her poops for the next few days and as long as they look ok and she's acting fine, I just switch her right over to the new food. Good luck! | |

| Pet Supermarket sells the Wellness brand and is cheaper than Petco. If you can show/prove that Pet Supermarket sells it and the price, Petco will honor that price to keep your business. I have all four of mine on the Wellness Weight Management but have tried their other products as well and I was pleased with them. By all means make the change gradual or it will affect the fluff's stools.

| I believe if you go to their website, you can locate a store through there. They have a puppy brand that I fed mine. When they get older, you can then decide whether you want to go with their Super 5 Mix (they have many flavours, some for senior dogs, some for sensitive tummys) or their Core. The Core is their grain-free one. I went from Royal Canin to Science Diet (which I switched out of because I found out SD wasn't that great) to Wellness and Addie was okay with it. She liked the Science Diet better than she liked the Puppy Wellness. I just felt like she wasn't eating that much of it. I switched to Evo and she wouldn't even touch the Wellness. It made transitioning very difficult. She would just grab food in her mouth, walk to the carpet, set it down and then pick out the Evo pieces to eat. But it really is all about personal preferences for dogs. I'm sure there are many dogs who love that brand. Wellness as a dog food is pretty good, so rest assured in that respect. I ... I actually can't even remember what your questions were. I got so distracted by my Wellness story. I hope something I wrote helped!

| Oh, as far as transitioning ... I've heard it's good to have old food 75%, new food 25%. After a couple days of that with no issues, then go 50%, 50% for a few days. Continue that trend in 25% increments until your feeding Tyler 100% of the new stuff! I'd think it should take about a week. YESSS I answered one of your questions finally.

| LoL AddieLove (: Well I gave Tyler some of the Wellness (DH was oh so happy with the price) and Tyler LOVES it!!!! Sheesh!! It even smells better.... and looks better!!!! He also got his harness which I'm not sure if I like it but it will do for now. It's better than having that collar pull his little neck! |
