| Pierre got fixed & had teeth removed =(( Hello Yorkie world... it's been a long time since I posted anything. So it's about time for me!! Anyways, my little Pierre got fixed yesterday and had four teeth pulled. I was so worried about my little boy all day!! Well, I picked him up and he was in la-la land. He slept most of the night. I got him to drink a little bit but he hasn't touched any food. I should probably buy him some soft food for the next couple days?? They didn't put a cone on him. That worries me a little bit as he is beginning to lick his stitches. Not bad... but he is. Should I be worried? Also.. the main reason for this post. Before Pierre got fixed... he was marking EVERYTHING!!! He is about 9 months now. Will this stop since I got him fixed? I had to wait this long because he got sarcoptic mange at about 5 months and I had to wait til treatment was finished to have him fixed. And... how can I expect his mannerisms to change? I want him to be the same baby... but a little calmer would be nice!! Anyways, any feedback would be fabulous!! Thank you much Yorkie Lovers!!! |

| He may or may not stop marking. Some do, some don't. If you didn't get him neutered, he'd continue marking. Now there's a chance he'll stop. It may take time for him to calm down. He's still a pup.

| Does he have stitches or did they glue it? Baxter had glue and my vet said no cone needed. He also never missed a beat with his regular food but he only had one baby tooth pulled. The marking thing I don't know. I do know that he doesn't pee near as much as the pom I had that we never neutered. And he doesn't mark. I hope your baby will do as well as Bax did. |

| Hope you don't mind me asking, but how much was it to get him fixed and have the teeth removed? |

And to the above question about whether he was glued or stitched... he got stitched... =( He seems to be doing much better already!! Of course I spoiled him and bought him lots of toys, a new bed, and some soft food! He ate it up! | |

| I hope Pierre is doing well and back to eating today. My Max had the same done yesterday -- neuter, 5 teeth pulled. Like you, I am concerned about my guy licking his incision. |

| Awww no... stubborn little guys aren't they?? Pierre is actually doing amazing! He is sitting on my lap at this very moment!! I thought he was going to resent me after this but he actually loves me more!! Haha. I bought him some wet food to eat the day after and he gulped it all down in seconds. He loved it... but his tummy didn't!! He had the worst gas that night. Haha I was dying. But the third day he was finally back to his normal food. THe pain meds make him dilirious... haha kinda like he was drunk. So I stopped giving him that. But yes, Pierre is doing amazing!! Thank you all for your posts!! |
