| Monthly Meds Hello Everyone I got my Oliver exactly 1 month ago, I was wondering the best medications to use for them. I was think Advantix for the ticks/fleas and Heartguard for the heartworms. I can buy both of these at PetCo, right? Thanks

| Flea meds are available at pet stores just be careful of the brand and the source because there are counterfeits out there. If you want to be really safe, buy from your vet. Are ticks a problem in your area? Heartworm meds have to be purchased from your vet or online usually. Some of these are shipped in from other countries and you may or may not be getting the real thing. I use Interceptor for heartworms but have used Heartgard. It's really a personal choice. If you want to deworm monthly, then you can use Heartgard Plus or Interceptor.

| Those are both good choices. But, you'll have to get the heartworm preventative from your vet.

| I prefer getting both from the vet. I've heard that most of the products sold in pet stores are usually over-the-counter and don't always work. I could be wrong though as I don't really have any experience with buying those type of products from a pet store. |
