| So I found a tick on Munchie this morning... Ugh I can't stand them. I'm going to the vet today and I'm going to ask him about Frontline. But what's really up with it. I heard that some dogs have gotten sick off of it. I don't want to put him on it if it has a rep of being bad. I'm also going to ask him about the garlic one a week preventing them because I do rather something natural. |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I've never heard of garlic helping with ticks, let us know what the vet says. Forgive me if I'm mistaken, but I thought you little boy was really young. I didn't even get Joey till 12 weeks, and I was told not to take him anywhere till he had all his shots. This means parks and places where other dogs visit. When we took him to the vet, we were very careful, and kept him in his carrier. I just wonder how he's being exposed to all these things, or did he have fleas and ticks when you bought him?

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Maybe your yard has lots of fleas and ticks; do you have another dog? I know there are products that can be used for the yard, but you have to use them carefully, and keep the dogs out of the yard while the products are working. I guess it depends on how bad the infestation is, and I'm not even sure if the products work for ticks. Hope the vet has some good answers, and remember it's very important to take off a tick correctly, otherwise a serious infection can develop, it would be good to have the vet explain this to you since you are going anyway.
