| When do male testis descend? Hi everyone I have a 13 week old male yorkie he weighs 1 lbs 9 oz. His testis have not decsended yet. I do however see sometimes when he sleeps that they kind of pop put and then they hide again. Is this okey? I think is untill a year that they have time to descen, some are late in descinding correct? Thank you in advance for all your great help Mily |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Sounds normal to me, Joeys took a while to drop, and I think they should be down by 6 months, but it can take longer. I think, if boy's testicles don't drop around the age of one, neutering is more expensive because the surgery is more invasive.

Donating YT 10K Club Member | Can you feel them? If you feel them...they are descended...just small. Usually they have descended by 3 months of age...sometimes a bit longer.

| Usually a dogs testes descend into the scrotum, from where the develope in the abdomen, by the time the dog is two months old. If they fail to descend into the scrotum, then a condition known as cryptorchidism is diagnosed. It is best to remove these non-functioning/non-descending testes as they can cause a mired of problems later. Your pup is still so little, that I would suggest having a vet palpate for them. They might be there, just so small, that no one can tell. Best of luck.. |

| Hi cannot feel them when he is playing around and running, but when he goes down for a nap and he wakes up and I pick him up I see them there but after like 30 min to an hour they dissapear? Does that mean they have not descend yet. When I do see them are like the size of a jellybean. Thank for all your reponses. This is my first yorkie, My mom has a s**t Zue who is 10 years old and is a male but since it was so long when he was a puppy I don't remember how it was with him lol |

| I took him to the vet a couple of weeks ago for a general check up. she was feeling him there but I did not remember to ask her then. I think if she did not mention anything that is normal. |

Donating YT 10K Club Member | At a puppy's age...they can retract their testicles. Once they are older they lose this ability. Jellybean sounds just about the right size.

She was checking for them...and I'm pretty certain if they weren't "there"...she would've mentioned it. Husbands are very proud of those too. LOL
