| Wellness CORE- not for over one year of age? Jackson is 7 months old. He will be 8 months old on the 11th of June. As some of my posts stated before, his eye gunk has been awful as well as more pooping since starting Wellness Super5Mix chicken flavor. I like the Wellness company though and I like that it's readily available in 3 stores close to me so I'd like to stick with the company. So I thought about going to CORE since he was on a grain-free food before and didn't have these issues so I'm wondering if it's the grain causing eye gunk and more poop?? But it says not to feed Core to dogs under 1 year of age. I mean, I'm 99% sure he's done growing. He's 14lbs now and seems to have stayed that for a while. He's about 4 months away from being 1 year old. Should I need feed Core yet?? Thanks for the suggestions, going to the store very soon!!

| Hi Brittany!! Have you tried feeding him just the BG??? Maybe that could help with the eye gunk?? Not trying the Innova? I guess if you're figuring the grains could be causing the eye gunk, Innova would not work. I started Snickers months ago on Evo which is a higher protein, grainless kibble so in my opinion I think it MIGHT be ok. See what the others say. I know Morgan's Mom-Kellie feeds Core, but I'm pretty sure Morgan in over a year old. Good Luck babes! Snick & Viv

I definitely wanted to try Innova but IF by chance it's the grains... it wouldn't help as you said lol. And I feel bad because he really likes the Wellness so I figured if maybe I stayed w/ the same company, just grainless, he would still be OK w/ the switch. And I know he will do fine with the higher protein since BG was 32% and he didn't have any issues. But like I said, he loved BG until he had Wellness to compare it to lol. Core is 34% protein. Thanks for your input!! I mean, I'm thinking it should be OK... but who knows. Because there's even higher protein foods than Core that don't require them to be over a year. I was reading some reviews on petco.com and one lady said her dog had horrible eye gunk and she found out he was allergic to certain grains and four days after she switched him to Core, the eye gunk went away! So it's worth a shot, I think.

| Wow! I hope it works for you...Snickers is on Evo right now and some Orijen...both are 42% protein and Evo is All Life Stages while Orijen is for "Adult Dogs" but Snick is a month shy of a year so he is fine. Snick started on the Evo at 7.5 months. Let me know how it goes, if it works for you, I might try it as well for my existing eye gunk issues. I hate eye gunk! I do remember Snick was not so hot for Core...but it's been while.

| My little guy will be 8 months old next week and he has been on Core for a month now. He loves it. Our vet said he would be around 12 pounds and he is currently 10.5 so I dont think he is gonna grow that much more. |
