| Do you have a hard time getting your yorkie to eat?? He wont eat dog food period..only smells it then walks away... He was eating chicken. I'd boil it and shred it and he loved it... Tried mixing chicken with dry food... no success... Now he's seems tired of the chicken and won't eat that.. I've tried lean ground beef, mixing canned w/ dry, mixing cooked chicken with dog food and other variations... He is soo finicky! But I still need to put some weight on him... What do I do? Thanks for any advise... Christine |

| Hmm. Have you tried Merrick Puppy Palate? I fed Mimi this when she was young, when you add water it turns into gravy with kibbles. Have you tried to feed him Raw Diets. I am going to have Mimi on this soon. Nature's Variety medallions. They had a sample pack. maybe you can try that.

| I definitely feel your pain. We have a hard time getting Roman to eat his wet/dry mixture all the time. We probably tried 10 different food brands until we found one Roman would consistently eat. And that was wet food...not dry. After he began eating that wet food well enough we started to incorporate dry in. Roman also will eat ground (chicken/turkey/beef) and rice for a couple days and turn his nose up at it. It very frustrating...what kind of dog wont eat ground meat?! Mallie on the other hand will eat pretty much anything! She's a little piggy!

Senior Yorkie Talker | Nutrical is a type of supplement that you give your puppies when they are eating/sugar has dropped/low energy, etc. It helps them regain an appetite and gives them that little boost they need. However, you are only supposed to rub a bit on there gums and tongue. Btw, YT is just the place to be for all your questions! They've helped me so much! Welcome! |

| I had heaps of trouble getting George to eat, now he eats OK somedays, but other days he just picks a little so on those days treats are at a minimum, but lately I have found he eats more in the evening so I'm not even offering food during the day, used to take him breakfast to work with us but not now, he always has his dry biscuits available but will only eat 1 or 2. I used to stress but have come to realise he dosn't need a lot and he is such a talkative little guy I'm sure he'll let me know when he's hungry. I just love my baby so much.

| My "Neko" was the same, too! When he came home, the Humane Society gave me a bag of food and treats for him to start him out on. It was what he had been eating already. Well, I freaked out because he wouldn't eat after getting him home. I paniced! Started buying soooo many different foods to see if I could change him. Well, the vet told me to mix in canned food with the dry, but he would only "pick" out the wet food. It was frustrating, however, it was said that he wouldn't starve himself. Eventually, after a day or two, he began eatting the dry food, but in small quanities until in days, his appetite picked up! The vet also told me that dry food is better for them. And not to give them too many treats. Of course he'd eat those...LOL...So give it some time and your baby may come around.

| Mine was super picky just like this when I first brought her home, for some reason over the last two months now she has been eating dry kibble with no problem! She is on Blue Buffalo. Sometimes though she would pick at it a bit so I would pour warm water over it, sometimes I had to HAND FEED her it, she thought it was a game. Perhaps try hand feeding, I know it's not the best way to get them to eat but with these yorkies sometimes they need that extra attention. I also notice my yorkie doesn't like to eat alone, somtimes she will grab a few kibble and bring it in the room to put on the ground and eat next to me. |

| You will find what he likes, I promise. I had the same problem. Bella is now on chicken. I would boil chicken every few days, shred it with my magic bullet and add a little bit of salt with her kibble. Now, I jsut buy a rotisserie chicken every week and take that meat and use it. It's flavorful and she LOVES IT!. The biggest trick I can give you, is ocne they find something they LOVE, stick to it and RUB the meat into the kibble to mask it. I rub the kibble against the shredded chicken. Maybe try that! |
