| Stinky Eyes!! Out of our crew of five..we have two that have runny eyes and the discharge is stinky like vinegar or something like it. They don't appear to have any problems with it. Within an hour of bathing and grooming these two, their little faces are wet and stinky?? I have mentioned this to our Vet. and he just says, "Yea, well, some of them do that". So I am open to ideas of anyone who has had this problem. Thanks!!

| I have heard some say that they changed the water to distilled water or that they put them on a allergy friendly food like the Natural Balance Duck & Potato. Someone on the Maltese Borad (I think that is where i read it) said that their babies no longer have the tears after changing diet and water. Wish I had more advice...

| They are really small changes that do not hurt anything and if they end up helping...great! I asked about eye goop over at the Maltese Forum and they said NB works well with their pups. No eye goop stuff. So I am going to try to change Max over. His eyes do not smell. He just has discharge color and goop.

| Snickers has eye gunk/boogers too. I used to have to clean his eyes daily from so much gunk when he drank tap water from a ceramic bowl, but then I switched to distilled water and a stainless steel bowl and now I clean them every 3-4 days, but there is still gunk, just less of it. I was thinking of trying Angel Eyes, but I don't want to add another thing to his diet (their bodies are so sensitive)! I REALLY want to put him on a full raw diet (right now he is on raw w/ Evo kibble in the evening) but it's pretty expensive. I am thinking for maybe a month I will try it to see if there is a change.

| You could try Sterile saline eye wash on a cotton ball to clean the areas daily, and get some Antibiotic eye ointment, and apply 1-2 times daily for a week or so after cleaning. Be sure to clean well around the eyes well also. The AB eye ointment won't hurt anything, and if it doesn't work, then I would change their food...
