| Help please for sensitive stomach/picky eater I have had so much trouble getting my Bella to eat. So far, I have tried Royal Canin, Innova Evo, Wellness for small breeds (all dry kibble). On Monday I bought some Wellness wet food and started mixing a little bit in with the dry and she gobbled it up (I was soooo happy), but she started having diarrea. I thought that was just something that would pass as she got used to the new food, but by Wednesday night she was throwing up too - for hours, so I took her to the vet yesterday and they gave her fluids and something to stop the diarrea and told me to stop feeding her the wet food and buy some Purina One and just give that to her. I'm so frustrated. I think I've been giving her better quality foods than that and don't know what to do. Please help! She just doesn't seem interested in dry food, but her stomach couldn't even handle a teaspoon of the wet food mixed in. I feel terrible that my giving it to her made her so sick. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm willing to try anything- I just want her to be healthy. |

| Wellness has that effect on some dogs and so does canned food. How about a good kibble like Innova (not Evo) mixed with a teaspoon of mashed sweet potato instead?

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Oh my, poor thing ! Was bloodwork done? How old is she? There is another thread in this section where someone is also having issues w/ Wellness, which is odd.

| I would also like to know her age and if blood work was done though. If she jsut doesn't like dry food and only had a reaction to one wet food she is probably fine. If she is sensitive to more foods and doesn't like eating in general, then you may have to go farther medically.

| they didn't do any bloodwork. She is approximately 2 y/o. I adopted her 6 weeks ago. She weighs 6 lbs. Should I be concerned that blood work wasn't done? This is my first dog and I feel so paranoid. I love her so much and I just don't know when I am overreacting or underracting. |

What food did she come to you on? Did she eat that? I wouldn't be extremely concerned about no blood work and not liking kibble and being a bit sensitive to canned. I would, however, insist that it be done if you don't know her medical history or she hasn't had any done yet. The same goes for a urinalysis.

| I sent you a PM for a good pet store in Augusta. Congrats on the new addition. Good luck with the food issues. |

| The adoption agency asked me what I planned on feeding her and I told them Royal Canin and they said that would be good, but come to think of it, I just asumed that was what she was eating and never asked- I'll email them. Also, I don't know her medical history- they didn't know at the agency- she had been dumped by a previous owner. So I guess I need to go back to the vet and have her worked up. What specifically do I want them to look for? And what is the urinalisis looking for? Sorry to sound so ignorant- I just want to be able to explain to the vet exactly what I want. |
