♥Tiny Tia my Furbaby♥ Donating Member | Tiny Mouth = Too many Teeth I now know its quite common for our little furbabys to have teeth removed , normally during spay/ neuter ops but oww how annoying! Tia had her spay op at 6 mths and was told nope all fine in the mouth. Four months later after a routine check up she needs 2 teeth removed! The vet said its no rush in fact many yorkie owners leave it untill they are a bit older. So Im not in any rush to put her under the knife again so soon but can it wait or not? Apparently its the canine ones. Her adult teeth are there but her baby teeth are alongside them. He closed her mouth and there is no dis alignment there . He also said they could come out on there own. Anyone else wait till later?

| My Yorkie boy was a rescue from some seriously unfit homes, at age 1 and a half he came to us and we have had him now for 6 months. He has almost all of his baby teeth still and also his adult teeth. He was scheduled for dental work but it is postponed now due to high results on his bile acid test. But based on the condition of his teeth at age 2, I would say not to wait - his teeth are in very bad shape and the baby teeth definitely need to be removed in order for the adult teeth to be brushed and his mouth cared for correctly. All those teeth make it so easy for food to get caught and cause dental problems. So based on my own, admittedly limited experience only, I would say get them out sooner rather than later. |

| You could probably wait a few months and see if they come out on their own

♥Tiny Tia my Furbaby♥ Donating Member | Thanks good advice . In that case my concern is about her having another op so soon after the last one

| i am really glad i waited to see if miss buffey's 2 bottom canines came out on their own. i was worried about having her put under again to get them out because she also was spayed at 6 months old around 15-16 months old, they came out within a day of each other...all on their own!!! so there IS hope! and her bite is perfect too so having those double teeth for longer did not mess anything up

| So she's ten months old now? I wouldn't wait too much longer to have them removed. You're lucky that her teeth are still aligned, but the baby teeth can decay and cause mouth infections that can spread to her permanent teeth. |

♥Tiny Tia my Furbaby♥ Donating Member | Yes she is 10 mths old but the vet said there is no urgency. Miss Bufeys mum has also just said that hers came out on their own at around 15 mths so I was thinking of waiting a bit longer rather than putting her through another operation as she had one for spay 4 mths ago.Oh I dont know now Im torn!

♥Tiny Tia my Furbaby♥ Donating Member | Also an infection in her mouth would be heart breaking as she loves her teeth to be brushed. In fact if you look closely at this pic you can see on this side the milk tooth Im talking about. Its right alongside her canine975301605c.jpg

♥Tiny Tia my Furbaby♥ Donating Member | No not yet as i don't want to put her through another op so soon after her spay. Im going to take the advice of y-ters and keep the brushing of her teeth regular and revise it when she is about a year old. The vet said its not urgent it could wait , they will probably come out on their own.She is 10 mths. How old is your baby?Do you have any teeth pics?
