YT 1000 Club Member | Shedding? Ok so I've noticed that some of Roxie's hair seems to come out easily. It's not like it's fallling out in clumps or anything alarming like that but I've just noticed that there seems to be more than normal lately. If I have on a dark shirt I've noticed some on my shirt. Is this normal? Also the other day I was moving her off of my lap in the car for a second to get situated, a little bit of hair got caught between my hand and the steering wheel and I was shocked how it just seemed to pull right out. She didn't even seem to notice it was like she didn't feel it at all. Her hair is shiney and she's healthy so I'm not sure if I should be alarmed or not. Any thoughts?

| how old is roxie?? i noticed bentley shed quite a bit when his puppy hair was growing out. his puppy hair was really soft, thick and cottony and his adult hair is wonderfully silky has there been any change to her diet? new treats? if roxie is an adult, it may be some sort of allergy

YT 1000 Club Member | She's 2. No change in her diet at all. She's on the same food she's always been on and done quite well with. I'm not sure if it's some kind of Spring shed since even I kind of do that. Her hair is the longest it's ever been right now and pretty thick around her face. I've been trying to decide to keep it longer or cut it shorter. She's going to the groomer on Tuesday so maybe she can tell me is she notices anything different about it.

| hmmm i know a lot of people say, "yorkies don't shed" but mine shed lol. they have hair like humans and not dog fur but they still shed. it could be a little seasonal shedding since it is getting warmer out. i would definitely ask the groomer and see what they think and if they have no idea, maybe call your vet and make an appointment. a skin scraping will rule out a lot of bad things (like mange?) i think and at least put your mind at ease sorry i was not more help!

YT 1000 Club Member | Thank you for the reply I do appreciate it. I think it probably is some seasonal shedding like you said. I'll keep an eye on it and let you know!!

| I wonder if maybe it's because the weather is getting warmer?? Could be like other animals even though "yorkies don't shed" I had a long haired border collie and his shedding was downright awful in the summer like it was thinning out for the hot months ahead.
