Senior Yorkie Talker | kati doesnot have pyometra but her ovaries i took her to the vet yesterday and she x-rayed her and said she does not have pyometra but she said it is poyly cystic ovaries..she said she would not do surgery since kati is 15 yrs old. please give me some input on what you think..she gave me no indication on how serious this problem is..she didn't seam too concerned..And I have had excellent care from her for over 5 years with my other 2 yourkie that have since passed away from renal failure. at age 15.and her care of them was excellent. and now that I think of it I can't remember if she said POLYCYSTIC or just an ovarian cyst..is there a difference? I was just so happy that it was not pyometra that I felt like we were going to be just fine. also i can't find anything on the internet to tell me about this current condition...All your help would be so appreciated... |

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | Glad its not a pyo but i can't give you any information about the cysts. I don't know anything really about that or how serious it is. now that your feel the relief of knowing its not a pyo and your mind is calmer you should call your vet back and have her explain in detail what it is exactly that Kati has. After you hear what she has to say you can decide if you want to persue a second opinion from either another vet or an internal medicine vet. if its serious and your vet just doesn't want to do surgery because of her age (but there is nothing else wrong with her and she is healthy otherwise), then i would go to the internal med vet and see what he says.
