| taking awhile to adjust to the heat? Anyone else noticing this? My dog was born last summer so more or less has never really experienced warm weather. She is a black and tan yorkie so she just absorbs so much warmth if she hangs out in the sun. The last couple of days its been in the 70's and she has just slowed down a lot. I know i'm being over worried, but i just want to hear about others whose dogs just don't like the heat =) I've giving her plenty of fresh cool water and tossing her an ice cube here and there.

| Brandi is 7 yrs old is also slowed down a little bit. Here in Delaware it has been in the 90's all this weekend as well as today. She definitely is a little sluggish. I turned on the air last night and left it on while I was at work. She's okay but I can tell she is a little bit more sluggish but she still has plenty of energy. I took her out for her afternoon walk.....and it didn't seem to affect her. She just came back in and drank some water. As long as she has plenty of water and it's cool in the house, she'll be okay. |

| My Rex is going through the same thing I live in NY city and my Rex was born last June so this is his first summer out...on Saturday it was 88 degress here and my husband and i took him to the park...he had a blast with so many other puppies but when we left we had to stop and buy some water because he was breathing so hard...the problem is that his not eatting much since last sat and everytime i take him out for his necessites he comes back breathing hard again....could the heat have gotten him sick? I'm getting worried and even thinking of taking him to the vet...i'm going to buy him a bandana which you put in the freezer for those hot days. Is this normal for him to be breathing so hard? |

| My sister and I were talking about this same subject earlier today. She asked me if Milo seemed wiped out and I told her yes he does and she said so does her dog and her neighbors dog. We went from such extreme cold to extreme Hot in this area. I even noticed myself that I could not spend more than an hour outside where as last year towards the end of the summer in the same heat I could spend the day and it would not bother me. I think them just like us need to build up to the change. Just make sure you and her get plenty of water and limit outdoor excersice when the weather is over 90 and all will be well. |

YT Addict | It was in the 80's last week where I live, and Emmett was starting to feel it. I shaved him last year when it got hot and he was fine, so I shaved him again this year. The weather is a little cooler this week (high 50's and 60's) but its ok because I put a little shirt on him. |
