| Question about stressed out puppy My Daisy is almost 5 months old and weighs 2lbs 13oz. She is perfectly fine here at home although a bit cautious to loud noises etc. She seems to get scared easily. We have had her for about a month. New things just seem to 'worry' her. I take her for short car rides to get her used to that and try to take her often so she gets used to new things. When I put her in the car she shakes and seems so scared. Doesn't matter if its in her crate, on a blanket whatever, she just seems so scared. If I hold her and just drive around the block she is a bit better. Yesterday we had to go out of town and was gone from 5am till 10 last night. My daughter took her to her house and even tho she has been there before she was very timid. She has a boxer that Daisy loves....at our house. She gave her a bath and then took her to the pet store.....she seemed fine and was at ease and not acting scared. Coming home tho she started throwing up and shaking. When she got her home she said she was acting strange....shaking, etc. She did give her some Karo syrup and could with coaxing get her out of her bed and interested in a toy. But all she wanted to do was go to her bed and sleep. I'm sorry this is so long but I wanted to share a little history. I guess my question is twofold...do you think I just have a very cautious, easily stressed out little puppy (she IS better than she was when we first got her) And also, how and what can I do to help this situation? It is just kinda sad to take her new places and expose her to new things to try to get her used to more things when she seems to get so stressed out over them. Any suggestions??? Anyone had a puppy like this?? What can I do to make little Daisy more of a social butterfly?? LOL |

| Stewie is very bold normally, but gets nervous in the car. Maybe she just gets carsick or something?

| If we go for a short ride in the car she doesn't get car sick. But if we go for a ride and we take into someplace then she seems to get so stressed by that then once back in the car she is throwing up. Probably she just needs to go more for little short trips and be taken more places a little at a time so she gets used to it. |

| Yea I would say more short trips too. Jewels is like this. She will start panting like crazy then she gets sick. I would take her with me more often but I dont want her to get sick.

| That's how I feel too. I would take her but it seems to stress her out so much and I don't want to do that so I don't take her which in turn doesn't help. I find myself saying, I should take her so she gets more used to different situations but I don't want to because she seems so so scared and gets sick. Sometimes she shakes so bad I swear you could churn butter on her back! LOL She got so stressed one time after a shot that she went into hypoglycemic shock...that was NOT a fun time! I am so scared of that happening again. |

| I have seven yorkies (and 4 yorkie puppies) currently.... Only one of my Yorkies was a nervous girl.... She outgrew most of it.... Car rides effect most of my Yorkies... sometimes they throw up.... sometimes they seem fine. Hopefully with time your baby will overcome her stress.....everything is still real new to her.
