| Bella has dandruff! Bella has been scratching lately. She is on tick and flea preventatives, so that is not it. I looked at her really good and I noticed her skin is a little dry. Do any of you guys have any suggestions on what to bathe her with or what to do to help her? I just don't want her to be uncomfortable. Its not a bad thing, but its like a little dandruff. Thanks!

| My vet recommends oatmeal shampoo for that problem. Good luck!

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Could be seasonal w/ all the pollen right now (pollen.com) - it's bad for us here in AZ. For flaky, dry skin - I recommend supplementing w/ fatty acids. I like Ark Naturals Royal Coat bc it has fish oil (fatty acids EPA/DHA) as well as GLA and LA, which are so great for skin issues - then, it also has vit A/D/E - which is great bc you must give vit E when giving fish oils to dogs. I get mine at Whole Foods, but it is online as well. I find much better results from this oil than from a straight Omega 3 fish oil.

I just looked this up and it says "fish oil" but it doesn't specify what type of fish. does that matter? oh and where in whole foods do you find it? is it in the pet isle?

| Increased Scrutiny of Flea and Tick Control Products for Pets | Pesticides | US EPA Great health, skin and coat come from the inside out. A good healthy diet would be real food. You can then add Omega 3 & 6 to it.

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | When my pot bellied pig got dry skin I used to feed him advacado, don't know if that is safe or works for dogs though.

I just thought I would add, that Joey's breeder said the number one cause of dry flakey skin on dogs is not rinsing thoroughly after shampooing. So you might want to rule this out too.
