| My Yorkie has pnemonia, Help!!!!! I just got my Yorkie one week ago. She developed kennel cough and it went into pnemonia in about a week. She is being treated by a vet and has been on IV's etc. since Sunday. The Pet Store we got her from has offered to take her back and replace her. Will this change her personality? She is so pitiful and I love her but the vet bills are racking up! Any advice? |

| Will the pet store take her back and give you your money back so you can get a yorkie pup from a breeder? I wouldnt want another pup from the petstore. This wont change her personality. I am sorry you are going through this

| This is one of the reasons we all try and get the word out about Pet Stores selling dogs. The dogs come from PUPPYMILLS.COM 99% of all dogs purchased in Pet Stores have continuing medical problems for life and the medical bills just keep mounting. I'm sorry you did not do your home work before buying a Yorkie. Adopting is a commitment for the dogs life. If you decide on adopting again, go to a reputable breeder. NEVER buy one sight unseen, like flying one in, or meeting some breeder half way. Always go to the breeders home. I pray your baby pulls thru this.

#2 - Tell the Pet Store that YOU want to be refunded the amount of $ you paid for her to go towards her Vet Bills. #3 - Tell the Pet Store that YOU want THEM to pay *at least* 50% if not the entire Vet Bill. #4 - If your baby is at the vet and being treated, she should make a recovery. This WILL NOT change her personalty. ...PLEASE DO NOT RETURN HER - She can live a wonderful life, and they WILL just put her to sleep, and they on there end will get a replacement pup from the Puppymill that she came from. #5 - When buying pets, either find a reputable breeder or rescue. DO NOT EVER BUY from a PET STORE again - They get there pets from puppymills. IF you do not know what a Puppymill is....Go to google and do a search She is in my prayers

And YES I would bet anything on that *if* you return her, they will PTS - However, the Pet Store SHOULD NOT be able to get away without refunding you and paying some or all of the Vet bills - So you go after them

| Thanks for the prayers. My husband surprised me with this puppy a week ago Sat. I have never had a small dog, only a lab who was originally my son's. They raised him and both are gone with homes of their own. So, I have zilch experience. I will however research, learn, and do all I can to pull my puppy through this! So, this is why I am on this forum. |

| Outside and I do have pee pads for my bathroom where she stays when I am gone. What do you think? I have read a million different things like don't train them only to pee pads and then do. |

| She is still very young and her *free* area needs to be contained. Too much freedom is scarey for young pups and you'll never get her trained. Even when you are home and watching her, her area needs to be contained. Yes, taking her outside every 1/2 hour to 1 hour is how to train her to go outside. Get a GOOD potty treat. I like Peanut Butter Chips from the baking isle. They are small and very effective. ONLY use this for Good Outside Potty. You want her to get excited and strill to please you so SHE gets that Good Treat! And Postive Praises - Good Girl |
