| Question regarding canned food I'm currently buying 6oz. cans to use for Sasha. For her meal, I mix in about 2 tsp. so the 6 oz. cans work out perfect for me so I know the canned food won't go to waste right away. Unfortunetely, not all brands have canned food that come in 6oz cans. If I ever have to buy a regular 12 or 13oz can of food, is the canned food freezable so it can last longer or no? I'd hate to have half of the can of food go to waste. Of course I keep the canned food in the fridge once it's opened, but I was researching different foods online today when it made me think about this. Any help will be greatly appreciated. |

| I used to feed three dog bakery Entree for Dogs, it came in a 12 oz pouch. I would empty the pouch into a glass bowl with air tight lid. It stayed good in the fridge. I don't know how small your pup is or how much you feed her, but this worked for lucy.

| I leave Welliness kibble out all the time and at nite I third a can of Welliness between the 3 babies. Kayla is smaller, of course, being a yorkie, but she eats as much as my little schnauzers. She loves to eat. A can covered and kept in the fridge should last you. Two tsps. is not very much. She must be real small. I probably over feed mine. THey are little chunkie monkeys. If I were you I would just buy the small cans and cover it with foil or whatever and let her eat on it at least a couple of days. I always warm food up in the microwave too if its put in the refriderator. |

| I use the Wellness too. With 3 the big can is better BUT they make 6oz cans too. Mine love a dab in the kibble. |

| We also feed Wellness wet food and recently started to buy the large cans. We divide it into small, airtight containers and use as needed. Someone on YT suggested freezing individual portions in ice cube trays, placing in ziploc bag or other container when completely frozen and taking out a cube (or two) a little while before feeding time to thaw. I plan to try this as soon as I get around to buying some new ice cube trays. Last edited by MiloBoy; 04-14-2009 at 04:25 AM. |

| I use the Wellness wet canned food mixed in with Jackson's Before Grain kibble. He loves it.

| Well for the most part it seems as though keeping it in the fridge in an air tight container should be ok then, which is what I already do. I just use a regular spoon (not exactly sure if it's a tsp, it's likely more but just as an estimate) and put just enough in there to coat the dry kibble. I'm buying the 6oz cans right now, but I rotate her food and I happened to notice that not all brands offer 6oz cans or if they do, a store I can get those foods at don't always sell the smaller cans, so that's why I was just wondering. Thank you all! |

| what is the best wet food? I am mixing royal canin dry kibble with wet for my yorkie who just gave birth to four beautiful pups almost three weeks ago. There are so many differing opinions....what do you folks consider the best wet food to mix with the dry? Worried.... |
