| Easy Tick Removal This was actually for children but what's the difference Apply a glob of liquid soap to a cotton ball. Cover the tick with the soap-soaked cotton ball and let it stay on the repulsive insect for a few seconds (15-20), after which the tick will come out on it's own and be stuck to the cotton ball when you lift it away. This technique has worked every time I've used it (and that was frequently), and it's much less traumatic for the patient and easier for me. Unless someone is allergic to soap, I can't see that this would be damaging in any way. It's spring and the ticks are out so this is good to know. |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | another good one is VASELINE.. put a glob of vaseline on top of the tick let it sit for about 10 minutes and she will DIE.. just pick it up and toss.. My son got a tick years ago and his scout master did the vaseline thing and I was AMAZED... hugs, Carmen in nj |

I would think that would sufficate them. Then how would you remove it if it were buried already under the skin?

It's always good to have more than one remedy. Thanks for sharing. I'll remember that as well.

| WOW, wish I had seen this last week. I found a small one that had attached under Bonnie's arm pit. I pulled it off with tweezers! I thought her poor skin was going to rip I had to pull so hard. She never even acted like it hurt. Thanks, this is why I love YT |

| I wish I saw this yesterday - Sully had one last night and I couldn't BELIEVE how hard it was to pull that sucker out. At first pull I didn't get it all - so I put some rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball and held it on there for a few seconds. I then went back with the tweezers and got the head out - but I really had to pull. |

| I kinda needed this info last weekend. I googled "tick removal" and found a video that some guy had posted. What he said to do was to put your finger on the tick and rub in circles like you're trying to make it dizzy. After about 30 seconds of this, the tick let go and I threw it in some alcohol to kill it. Really easy if you don't have a cotton ball or soap or vaseline nearby.

| snopes.com: Liquid Soap Tick Removal Don't use home remedies according to snopes.com and CDC....just thought i'd post this, i don't doubt that dish soap works to remove them, but it might be making them spit more awful junk into your child/dog's body. |
