| Discontinued food It seems they have discontinued the food I normally feed my dog, and lucky for me she's more picky about her food than I am I gave her something new and I would say she hasn't actually eaten in 5 days. Any ideas on what to do? Do I just keep with the new food and eventually she'll start eating? Or should I keep buying her something new until she starts eating? Thank you |

| Hmmm, good question. What were you feeding her?

| How old is she, and how much does she weigh? I would get something down her, she needs food. What kind of food did you just buy for her that she's not wanting to eat? |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Are you giving her anything, treats human food, are you saying not one bit of food has been eaten, or one bit of dog food has been eaten? Joey was really fussy to, and we went through lots of different food trying to find one he'd eat. People would rave about one food, and he just wouldn't touch it, but I never waited 5 days, it was more like 12-24 hours. Petsmart will take back a food that your dog doesn't like if you keep the receipts. Joey loved Royal Canin, and it seems to be a favorite with fussy dogs, but it does contain corn and some dogs are allergic to corn. Now that he's older he doesn't seem as fussy, and I've been trying different foods, and he seems to enjoy them all. Another thing you could do is sprinkle a little Parmesan cheese on the food, dogs love the smell of this.

| She was eating Purina kibbles and bits, and we just got her Kibbles and Bits brand kibbles and bits- they kibbles look very similar... She's 5 years old and weighs 5 pounds. I got 2 sample packets of the Iams stuff you can mix with dry food and the first night she snarfed it down and "urped" a little while later- not like vomit but mucous-y (sorry, not a great description)- we tried the mix stuff again the next day and she wanted nothing to do with it. She's had her normal treats like when she goes potty outside, and little scraps that hubby normally gives her around lunchtime. So she's not starving, but she's not exactly getting a healthy diet this week... |

| Yes, giving table scraps can make them very picky eaters, plus, a lot of people can tell you, that giving table scraps can lead to pancreatitis, which can be fatal. |
