| Pig ears? Are pig ears similar to bully sticks? (I know what bully sticks ARE, lol, but health wise, etc..) Jackson absolutely loves pig ears and it said it helped with dental. Just wondering if anyone could give me any info if these were good for dogs.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I have heard bully sticks are much better for them.. less fattening also.. another opinion is greatly needed though- I would like to know the facts instead of the opinions i get from the petsmart people!

| The big issue with pigs ears , is that they are loaded with fat! So for dogs that are prone to pancreatitis, like yorkies, it is not a great snack choice. Not to mention that the it could cause diarrhea or upset stomach due to the high content, or even the pieces could cause obstruction. Think of it as the"fried-pork-rinds" snack in human speak. Might taste good, but not good for you. |

| They are pretty much doggie junk food. There is the fat concern and then the salmonella concern. Salmonella can be found in some kibble though, so some people wouldn't worry about this. Because there is somewhat of a risk of contamination, I wouldn't be letting it on my blankets.
