| My baby is skinny!!!! I know that yorkies are funny eaters; however, I am not going to keep changing foods or give her soft foods to see if she will eat it or not. I have already switch her food twice; she had gravy train and now she is on pedigree for small dogs. She will eat the square ones with the meaty center but she will leave the other ones and basically eat a few kibbles at night. FeFe always looking for a snack or two from us, but the majority of the times I will not give her human snacks or doggy treats until I know she is eating her food. She is a small dog around 4 to 5 ponds; however, I can feel her back bones and her ribs under her huge amounts of fur. She does not seem lathargic or inactive but I am concern. Can someone tell me what can I do... I need HELP!!! |

| First of all, I would try using a higher grade of dry kibble. You can mix a little cottage cheese or chicken baby food in with it to get her started. Good luck!

| I would change her kibble as well. They are not ranked very high in nutritional quality. Also, snacks are not such a bad thing. It just depends on what kind of snacks you are feeding her. Chicken strips, or sweet potatoe crunchies, little pieces of apple or cheese. There are a lot of healthy choices out there that are probably already in your kitchen. Take a look at the "Homecooked" thread, I believe it is in the "Health" forum. This will give you plenty of great ideas that you can make yourself, and are easy to make. The important thing to remember is that these little guys are high maintenance. Research the food threads here. Give them high quality nutrition, and they will remain healthy and happy. Good luck |

| Pedigree and other pet food from the grocery store is garbage - literally. It is made from the waste of the human food industry, the not-fit-for-human-consumption by-products. Please read this: Get The Facts This thread is pinned at the top of the Health & Diet section and will help you find a high quality food: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...e-samples.html |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Also when you give her treats, make sure they are broken into small bits. Their tummies are so tiny it doesn't take much to fill them up. I only buy treats that I can break easily w/my thumbnail. If I can't break a small piece inside the package, I won't buy it. I don't want her filling up on treats & not eating her main diet. |

| I personnally would not feed my dog Pedigree. LINK The link above will direct you to the top 10 rated dog kibble. Check it out. They are not that much more expensive, and they are definitely of a higher nutritional standard then what you are using now. Like I said, what you put into them today will essentially determine their health for tomorrow. |

| I just wanted to add that you shouldn't feed more than 10 percent of her daily food intake as food from your kitchen unless you plan on adding supplements. My Missy was a fussy eater as well, until I started Homecooking for her (and adding the appropriate supplements). There is a great website for researching foods, it's dogfoodanalysismcom
