| LINK This link was posted the other day by a YT member. It has some great info on it. Look half way down the page until you see two pics of the same yorkie with a red bow in her hair. There is a fungus that affects the ears and nose, that you mentioned, and it sounds like leather ear. Take a look. Hope it helps! |

| Yeast? it's probably something as simple as a yeast infection, but you'll need to take him to the vet to do a culture, then they give you some drops to use for 3 days, then once a week....very easy to deal with, but you just need to deal w/it, 'cause it's uncomfortable/itchy for them.... | It could also be from stress of the travel...hope you'll find answers soon. About the dog stew...I think they eat big dogs (such a shame), maybe you should try to find a trusted vet in your area, if not, have your mom take him to a vet asap when she goes back home.

| thanks I was really panicing when I posted yesterday. I've calmed down since then and called long distance to my old vet. I'll send him the pictures and see what he makes of it. Thank you all so much. I just felt so scared and over reacted. |

| It's perfectly understandable, when Momo makes a noise, I think he's in pain or something & I have to check every part of his little body...you're just being a good mommie. Let us know how Yogurt is doing...really unique & cute name!

YT 500 Club Member | Poor little Yogurt. I am not sure what the problem might be, but see if you can find an English-speaking doctor. I live in S. Korea and I've been lucky enough to find one. Try American/Canadian expat sites for a good recommendation. What country are you living in now? And yes, the larger dogs (like Spaniels) are the ones that usually get eaten. It's been my experience that Koreans LOVE (seriously, LOVE) small dogs.

| you need to have a skin scrapping done - one that they allow to grow - not just look at under a microscope immediately. It may be leather ear - which is a fungus - you can search on here - I've posted about it several times. Here's one of the links, there are others - but there is little info out online anywhere on leather ear or also known as winter ear http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...us-yorkie.html my post is the last one - and it lists what treatment I have used.

| thank you all for your advice I took him to few vets. They all pretty much said the same thing. Allergies I am not sure if I believe it's allergies or not but they gave me ear drops and antibiotics. They told me I needed to pluck his ear hairs out. But I don't think I will be doing that since I've read too much on how that could expose pores and facilitate infections . I did ask them if it is fungus related. They took out this purple light and shined it on yogurt. They said it would glow green on his nose if there is fungus. His nose didn't glow green. Any one else used this method?? I asked him if it is worms and they said no. So if it is allergies then I've narrowed it down to his new shampoo (pro cleanse medicated shampoo) and food(wellness small breed adult) As for eating dogs. I am still traumatized from my childhood. I am from a non-commercialized city in southern china. I swear my pre school classmate's family ate my s**tzu(bubbles). What kind of coincident is it that they had dog stew the day after bubbles went. I knew what he ate for dinner because he told the whole playground that day. |

Did your vet use the purple light like I described above? Because yogurt sleeps on the bed and bed only, and I might sound crazy, but the way I see it is that if I contract something from him then I can at least confirm the leather ear. --- what kind of syntomps were you showing when you caught it? Thank you in advance for your answer | |

Ringworm isn't a worm, it's a skin fungus - and there are strains of it that you will not see under a Woods Lamp. Also, you may not (at all) see a "ring" w/ ringworm in dogs. They should have done a fungal culture, which takes 10-14 days to grow and then diagnose. I would have this done asap - bc if it is ringworm or some other hair-loss causing fungus - the hair loss will continue.
