Jasper went to the Doctor Our little boy went for his second set of shots today. He weighs 4lbs. 4oz. I think he is going to be a big boy.My Aunt says Honey (his Mom) and Bailey (his dad) are both around 7lbs. I think he is going to out weigh them because he is only 12 wks. old and already is at 4lbs. What do you think? Also he has been a little sad since his shots and shivers.I called the Vet and they said to check his face to make sure it wasn't swollen because he could have an allergic reaction. The good thing is he wasn't swollen. He is a little tender where the shot was given but now after a few hours he is doing good.I have a new pic but yet again I have no idea how to post.I will put in the album. He got a new bed today and an outfit. He is so spoiled.

If he received the combo shot, definitely keep an eye on those shivers. That in itself could be a sign of a reaction. If he starts acting sluggish or not wanting to move at all, not being able to focus, call you vet asap. Definitely keep him close the next 48 hours. Good luck!

Thanks ,you kinda have me scared because all he wants to do is sleep or lay.He isn't as active as he usually is.I have no idea what I am doing another reason why I joined this site. All our other animals were adopted from shelters and were much older. This is our first ever puppy in our home.We are constantly scared for him.He is so busy and active and it is strange to see him cower and shiver and just so sleepy.I have an emergency number the Vet gave me to reach him at.He said at anytime call and he will meet me at the hospital.

Hi Danica...what shots were given? I don't give the lepto or bordatella. It is normal for a puppy to be tired after getting their shots and he might lose his appetite too. Mine have never had a reaction though so I can't help there. As for his weight, I wouldn't worry. The rule of thumb is to double their 12 week weight to get an 'idea' of their adult weight. All of mine have stopped growing between 5 and 7 months...some race up to their adult weight and stop but some grow slowy until a year old or so. As for the pictures...do you know how to resize them in your computer? You can PM me and I can try to explain it to you if you want.

| My boy had a reaction to the leptospirosis but he started vomiting within 10 minutes of being home from the vets. I had to bring him back in and they reversed it somehow? But they try to stray away from the Lepto vaccine in little dogs usually. If he's just a little tired- I wouldn't worry too much. He should be himself by tomorrow!
