| Throwing up/diarrhea OK, so I'm over at my dad's house staying for 2 nights, and Jackson has been absolutely fine, having a blast with their dog. They have a fenced in yard and we were outside working all day today... around 3pm or so, I noticed Jackson had nasty drool looking stuff dripping from his mouth and then I realized he had probably thrown up. Then I saw him throwing up again. It was clear, mucus looking stuff, totally clear. Then he proceeded to do it again about 15 mins later or so. Then he was fine for a good hour in a half, but just not feeling himself, he was laying down and just feeling blah. Then he had diarrhea problems. Then 25 mins later, he came back in the house and threw up the clear mucus stuff again, poor little fella. He's been just not himself since 3pm and now it's 7:30. Although he still found the strength to chase the cat at one point! Any ideas? I'm gonna ride it out through the night and if he's still bad all night and tomorrow morning, I'm taking him to the vet. Here's the only things I can think of he got into- -Pool chorline water (we have a pool but it's closed off but they still can manage to get the water. I try to stop them as much as possible, but could he have just drank too much??) -Pond water (It's a tiny little man made pond but it's barely filled up, but there is water in it)

| Ahh poor Jackson, I hope he gets feeling better. Are you sure he didn't eat something out there that you just didn't see? I know last year our golden retriever got ahold of a frog or toad and it squirt white stuff all over in her mouth, it was the nastiest stuff. I don't think she got diarrhea from it, but, it sure was disgusting looking. They are so fast at picking up things they shouldn't. Please keep us updated. Poor baby. You may want to give him a little canned pumpkin for the diarrhea if it keeps up |

but no, Jackson keeps basically throwing up nothing, it's just mucus really. I'm sure it was something he ate outside, I'm just not sure what! And he only had the diarrhea that once. I just gave him some plain chicken and he ate some of it, so thats a good sign.

| This time of year is really dangerous for pups. All the bulb family is blooming; tulips, daffodils, crocus: you get the idea. These are all toxic to pups, so if any of these are in your yard, keep your eye on him at all times. Keep us posted, and if he gets worse tonight, get him to the vet. |

| He seems to be better- hasn't thrown up since 6:30ish, the last time he did. It's now 9:30. He's just been snoozing on the couch and he had a bit of chicken! I'm gonna take him out to try to go to the bathroom and then bring him upstairs for "night-night!" I hope he's better by tomorrow. If not - I'll be bringing him to the vet just to be safe. The thing is, the throw up wasn't really even "throw up" per say. It didn't contain any food or coloring or anything... just looked like mucus drool spit up. Does that mean his stomach was empty?
