| Roky is coughing 2 I don't know what I did wrong but the body of my post didn't make it through so I'll start over. Rocky is 10 years old and has led a pretty trouble free life so far. Our last adventure with the vet came in at about $1,000 and with only Cathy working now we aren't anxious to go that route without checking here first. He's making this scratchy cough like noise ending in a retch as in throwing up. He's always done it ever once in a while and its exactly like throwing up something except that nothing ever comes up. Please let us know if anyone knows of some kind of soothing liquid we could give him to serve as a "cough" medicine. I posted a xmas video of Rocky a few years ago and got a lot of feedback. I haven't shot any video of him lately but plan to in the not to distant future. thanks, diamond ed & cathy |

| I hope Rocky is feeling better. Have to taken him to the vet? You may want to make sure his water is a little warm, no colder than room terperature. Regarding cough meds, you should probably check with you vet to make sure he is getting the right kind, for him. It doesn't sound, by your description, to be a collapsed trachea. Maybe he has something (fur) in his throat. The pollen here in GA is causing everyone to cough and sneeze. Please keep us posted!

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Yes, if he is doing this constantly you need to take him to the vet immediatly. I would never give him cough medicine this could kill him. Yorkies are known to have problems with Collapsed Trachea or what's called Reverse Sneeze. But if they are doing it constantly the trachea may actually be collapsing. This is another reason why I never use a collar and always use a harness. Please let us know how he is doing. Take Care |
