| How much food? how much food and how often should my 14 week old puppy be eating? We brought him home yesterday, and he has eaten a few pieces here and there (he takes individual pieces from bowl to the carpet in the hall to eat) but not even the 1/2 cup of food I gave her yesterday afternoon. He has only pooed once, last night....none today. Is this ok? When should I be concerned? |

same here- Layla was free fed until a year. If you just brought him home- dont' expect much as far as eating pooping/ peeing- it takes them a while to adjust and he is probably stressed a bit.. | |

| Well to clairy, I still free feed, as although the other 3 are 3 years, 6 years and 11 years, the baby is 9 mos so, it's still sitting out |

| When we brought Penny home a couple of weeks ago, she didn't eat, poop or potty much the first couple of days and it freaked me out too. Hopefully she will balance out tomorrow. When I am nervous I don't do so hot either. |

| Our puppy came home 2 1/2 weeks ago and ate nothing for the first several hours that she was in our house. She did manage to eat a full meal the same night though and has had no problem with food since. However, she did pee and poop very little for the first 2-3 days we had her... it was almost like she was holding it in! Now she pees SEVERAL times each day and poops 2-3x. I think there is just an adjustment period and this is normal behavior as the dog is adjusting to it's new environment. I would only worry if it went on for more than a couple days.
