| it happen again he stopped eating his food again. I don't know what his wrong with him. For the past 2 days, he doesn't seem interested in his food. he will run away everytime he comes close to his food bowl..He also runs away when I try to handfree him. He won't go near his food at all. He has only been eating a little bit here and there. I am worried. |

| yes, it is worrisome. How old is your baby? I went through this with Cooper and it is very frustrating. If you can get him to eat anything, that is better than nothing. I boiled chicken, and also got some of those toddler meat sticks for when Cooper wasn't eating. I hope you find something, and I am sure others will chime in with some ideas.

| he is almost 7 months. He won't eat. He won't even go near his food. He runs away everytime he sees me putting food in it. He will go near the food dish to only drink. He has been acting scared of everything lately and i feel like this is contributing to this food behavior. I have been trying to hand feed him. He will only eat a little and then runs away. I don't know where he is getting his poop from. He still poops 3 times a day. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Have you had him to the vet yet? I remember you posting about a few issues he is having for a while now, yet said your husband won't allow him to go to the vet. Can you take him yet? What about getting Care Credit at the vet so you could take him? I mean, I'm not sure if this is truly loss of appetite or not, but if it is - loss of appetite can be a very serious symptom in some dogs.

Try a chicken soup or baby food or some soft food.

| I have the same problem with Mandie not wanting to eat her food. She is 6 mths old, so right around the same age. I just figured it was because her teeth were bothering her, but the vet told me that losing baby teeth for dogs is not painful (YA RIGHT!!!)... I have tried regular human food, even feeding her off of a fork, still nothing. I guess since she isn't losing any weight, she will eat when she gets hungry.

| I am going through the same thing with Dymond who is six months. She will nibble here and there but she doesn't eat like she use to. I have found that if I take her outside for vigorous play she almost always comes in and eats. Her appetite has been picking up since I started this. (I hope I didn't just jinx myself)

In some cases, there is a two rows of teeth issue during the teething process. It could cause: red gum, swollen gum and sore.

How her gum looks like? swollen & red gum could cause disconfort, that why they stop eating. Antoinette is 5 months old and she is in the teething process. She doesn't eat like she use to but so far she is eating. I brush her teeth every day, so it help her. Losing baby teeth for dogs is not painful but two rows of teeth most be painful if their gum are swollen. I would take her to the vet to have them pulled if is necessary. I got it from internet: My Yorkie has not lost all of her baby teeth before she got her adult teeth and now she has two rows of teeth. will they come out or do I have to take her in ? Thank you for the question. The general rule of dentistry is that no two teeth should be in the same place at the same time. So unfortunately you should bring your your little Dracula in for a dental http://kona.kontera.com/javascript/l...rey_loader.gif examination. This is actually not an uncommon situation in Yorkies, we frequently have to remove retained baby teeth. If left in place they can cause damage to the incoming adult teeth and lead to serious dental problems as an adult. If you are planning on having her spayed, the extra teeth can often be extracted at the same time. Please let me know if I can be of further help. Dr. Beth

| If it is a teething problem..something that helped my Snick eat while he was in pain was to take his kibble, put it in a tough ziplock freexer baggy, and pound it with a hammer until it was crumbs. He licked it up right away and filled his belly. Good luck!! Please wish me tons of luck too w/ my Sep. Anxiety problems with my pup I NEED IT!! Smiles---
