| Canned food recommendations? When Lulu came to live with us, the breeder had her on Pedigree Puppy canned and Royal Canine kibble and told me under no circumstances should I change her food. After everything else she told me, I think she was a bit overly cautious on a lot of things (IfI did everything she told me to/ not to, Lulu would be living in a bubble). Anyway, I know it is not good to change their foods around but I would like to have her on a "better" canned food...one with more natural ingredients and preferably one in smaller cans. Lulu is only about 3# (and almost 7 months old), so a big can of food will last her 5-7 days when fed with her kibble. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

| Pedigree is not a good quality food. IT has so many fillers and animal by prouducts. I would switch to Wellness or Natural Balance Kibbles and Canned food.

| For one, it is what her breeder had her on and I don't want to cut it (canned) out altogether...she seems to be more satisfied on the days she gets a bit of canned (or on the days I mix a bit of chicken with her kibble). I can imagine having only kibble would get a bit boring day in and day out. And I find her bm's are a better consistency. I talked with our vet and she saw nothing wrong with giving her a bit of canned along with her kibble...as long as it is formulated for puppies. If I have to, I will ask her re: recommendations...as that is what I am asking for here.

| when I got my first puppy, the breeder had her on Iams and told me that it was the best. After joining the YT and researching I know better. I think sometimes they just like to recommand what they know but you are in the right place to learn about better food. You might wanna slowly switch to Wellness or Natural Balance Kibbles too.

| Hello...I think it's great you want to switch to a better canned food. Some of the canned food Snickers was successful on was: Merrick, Wellness, and now we use EVO. Evo is higher in fat, but we use so little every morning, that I have to freeze most of the can in portions or else it will go bad. Snickers is only 3.3lbs so if he gains a few ounces on the EVO canned, I don't mind, but I am watching closely. We also use EVO kibble which my pup adores. Royal Canine is not the best kibble either (some controversial ingredients), but if your dog does well on it, GREAT!! You can see how most foods ranked up on: Dog Food Analysis - Reviews of kibble Best if luck to you....

| My female LOVES the Wellness Core canned food. Her favorite is the lamb. The Core canned food contains 95% of the protein (lamb, beef, chicken, etc) and no grains. Good stuff and must taste good b/c Amelia inhales hers.

| Thank you everyone for your suggestions. I think I am going to take a closer look at Wellness and NB and possibly start the weening from what she is currently eating over the next couple of weeks (as I just bought a new bag of RC last week). Thanks again! It is so good to have so many experienced parents to turn to for help.

| My puppy loves the wellness canned food (the puppy variety, in orange cans) and it does come in a smaller sized can.
