Not eating - Changing food??? Trixie is eating Eukanuba Puppy food for Small Breed. She's always liked it. Until earlier this week when all of a sudden she did not want to eat. I thought it was because of her teething... (she tried to eat it, but it fell out of her mouth). So finally yesterday I thought, "she NEEDS to eat"... I bought a little tin of Cesar puppy food (wet food) and mixed some with her kibble. She finally started eating. I have to add that she has also had diarreah for the last two days. Today when she went potty she still had diarreah and now she had blood in her stool as well. I called the vet and they said the blood is from changing her food, and to give her only kibble. They said that she'll eat it when she is hungry... What do you guys think??? I'm a little worried. Also because she just got done with treatment for Cocciosis (sp???). The vet said that shouldn't be it...

| It is not uncommon for this breed to just all of a sudden tire of their food they were happy with yesterday. It is very frustrating! Try feeding her by hand or even try and feed her off of a saucer or blanket versus out of a bowl. That sometimes works or at least has in my case. Granted, I am no expert but I have never heard of blood in the stool due to changing foods? I would keep an eye on it and if it continues I would definitely have the vet look into it further as it could be the reason she has stopped eating in the first place. Good Luck!

I hand-fed her earlier this week and that worked. But now she doesn't even want to do that... She is teething so I originally thought that was the problem. I took a quick peek in her mouth this pm but I'm not really sure what it is supposed to look like... her back molers look kind of big... And I know her adult side teeth are coming through and her puppy teeth aren't out yet. So we are playing tons of tug-of-war

I don't know if this will work for your baby but when I changed Simon and Hallie's food, they didn't want to eat it so I started putting a little water in with it so it is a little soggy. Maybe that would help with her teeth too. I hope it works and she is scarfing down her food soon Let us know.....

Strangely, same problem... It's funny that you would post this because just this morning, my puppy started with the diarrhea (with a little blood in it) and I am also feeding Eukanuba for small puppy breeds. I called the vet this morning and was told the same thing, that it's probably just the food change (yesterday I canged his food from soft to hard) and nothing to really worry about. So, I dunno...
