| Carrots for treats? I heard somewhere that it was ok to give my boy carrots for a treat, is this true and does it matter if they are cooked or not? |

| I give all the dogs the little mini carrots as treats. I give them raw - something to crunch on - and it doesn't seem to bother them: they really LIKE them. Sometimes their poop has little pieces of carrot the next day, but that's nothing to worry about. |

Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | I sometimes give mine little pieces of raw carrots for treats and I also add a small amount of canned carrots or other veggies in with their dinner food. They love all kinds of vegetables. The carrots as treats are healthier and less fattening than regular doggie treats.

| Mine love the little baby carrots too. I am always afraid they will get choked on them but so far so good. Sometimes they have caused Kayla's stools to be alittle loose the next day but I feel like they are better for them than alot of the treats we buy them. |

| I give my three carrots, celery, oranges, grapefruit, canned pumpkin, pineapple, greenbeans~~ok I guess you get the idea. Veggies are good for them. They love them all. Each on has their favorite too. *fyi pineapple, canned pumpkin and spinach are all veggies that help with dogs that are poop eaters

| Yeah, from what I understand, they don't digest them terribly well and they don't get much nutrition out of them raw. Nevertheless, Nikko still gets a baby carrot occasionally just for something fun to chew on - like others have said, I figure they're not as bad for him as some of the crappy chew treats on the market anymore. :-) Lauren & Nikko |
