Greenies were recalled probably about a few years ago, since then they have re designed ingrediants, and the shape of the greenie. I used to give my doxies them, but their stomachs are so sensitive that they would either throw them up, or poop them out, so i didn't give them anymore. Fiona she has an iron stomach and has had NO ISSUES with greenies what so ever. I give her the bigger ones, and of course I watch when she eats them, and will not leave her to herself in a crate with one. I think they are great. they do have greenie pieces, which i would never, ever give to my dogs, they are so tiny and i've heard horror stories with them- i used to be a vet tech- so vets had different views on greenies, but they are fine. With everything you give your dog, you need to just monitor!

My name is Hope and I actually work for Greenies. This product does not pose a problem for Yorkies at all or any other breed. I would like to share the following statement from a board certified dental specialist by the American Veterinary Dental College: Canine Greenies® dental chews for dogs were reformulated in 2006. There have been no reports of blockages or obstructions since the product was re-introduced. Greenies are safe, soluble, easily digestible and a tasty alternative to brushing your pet’s teeth. In fact, Greenies help control plaque and tartar according to the independent Veterinary Oral Health Council. Greenies are nutritionally balanced and come in five sizes based on a pet’s weight. Pets should only have dental chews appropriate for their weight. Jan Bellows DVM Diplomate, American Veterinary Dental College Keeping your pet's teeth clean can help extend their life by up to 2 years. See how easy it is to take care of their teeth with Greenies. Could be true, but I find it *very* tough to believe that there have been ZERO incidences w/ *any* chew product, let alone one that has a clear history of them. Hmmmm....still, interesting...

The "New Greenies" are still causing obstruction problems in dogs as they do NOT dissolve. Here is a quote from one of the veterinary internal specialists on our listserve: "We had at least 3 "new" greenies as esophageal foreign bodies. They do appear softer when we take them out, but they still got stuck." Derek Duval, VMD, DACVIM Georgia Veterinary Specialists Aesops Vet - Pet Medical Bulletins

| See the thread about greenies in Yorkie Products & Reviews. I got a free sample and started a heated discussion about how bad greenies are. |

Senior Yorkie Talker | I went to the greenies web site and it says that the greenies LITE are highly soluble and digestible. It also says that dogs need to be supervised while eating them to make sure they are actaully chewing them, and not just gulping them down. Im sure they are fine as long at you do not feed them greenies allll the time and watch them to make sure they are chewing them and not just swallowing them cause i could see how that would pose a problem

| Mine eat them in about 2 min....I personally feel like an entire greenie all at once is alot in a yorkie belly. So digestable or not I stay away.

| I usually give Cassi the mini Greenies for teeth cleaning...every once a month. I allow her to chew on it for a few minutes and then usually toss the rest out b/c I don't want her to swallow it when it gets too small.

| I don't feel safe or right about giving my girls Greenies. Instead they get supervised Bully stick time and I brush their teeth everyday.
