Donating YT Addict | Question about eating as they get older ok Tyke is 7 monthes old........I keep dry food out for him which he hardly touches, but at lunch time i feed him his wet food which comes from a can. now this is the question......about the wet food , in the last week he doesn't want it that much. he used to be so excited to eat it. is he slowing down his growing? and maybe i should give him half in the morning and half at supper time? Or do dogs get tired of a kind of food? ( i doubt it) . sorry so many questions, just kind of puzzled how he could be so excited about this food for monthes and now he kinda eats it. today he ate a little and then walked off. I covered it with saran wrap to give him later on today. haven't changed his food since Oct. 08 same flavor.....hmmm hasn't changed in behavior either. just interested in you opinion........thanks

| Dogs do get tired of their food and Yorkies are a very picky breed. You can stop giving canned altogether if he eats kibble well or keep offereing it or change the brand or flavor. It's really up to you. It is possible that he is just filling up on less food now.

| I have never free-fed mine. I feed Buddy in the am and the pm. If he is suppose to get 1C of kebble I split it between the two meals. He gobbles it up immediately. If there is anything left I pick it up within 10 mins and discard it. I also mix fresh chicken breast in each serving. If you leave the food down for whenever how do you not know he's picking during the day and therefore not hungry at night? Try a schedule and see if he dosen't eat better. |

i can tell if he eats any of the dry because there isn't much put in his bowl. so if he messes with it , it's very obvious. Which he only eats the dry mostly at night if he eats it then. I feed him the wet at lunch time. He doesn't eat in the morning at all. I may change his can food and see how he does.
