Donating YT 30K Club Member | Need advice-Haruka has diahrrea As some of you may know I am watching Michiko's little Haruka. She has been with me since Friday and Michiko left Saturday from here to go to Japan. Michiko said it was ok to give Haruka a little of my girls California Natural wet food and little pieces of zukes salmon treats. She was fine on Friday and Saturday but by Saturday night I had Haruka and all 4 of mine with diahrrea (mine ate some of her Solid Gold wee bits). So Saturday night/Sunday morning was spent doing constant butt baths. I have them all back on their food only and gave each of mine some Rx medicine I have for 2 of mine that have tummy problems on and off and they are all fine. I did not want to give Haruka medicine since she is not my dog and Michiko mentioned not to get alarmed if she had a little loose stools. Well last night she went 5 times starting at 10 pm until 1 am. She has not gone since and seems ok just a little sad from missing Mom. It is difficult to get a hold of Michiko and I don't want to worry her but I am a big worrier especially when it is not my dog. My concern is that she may be having the diahrrea from stress. She is not use to being around so many other dogs all the time, even though they are not bothering her and she is playing occassionally. She definitely likes to be with people rather than the other dogs. My question is it seems like her diahrrea is only at night and maybe it is from stress not diet what home remedies can I try to get her tummy settled? I do have a can of pumpkin will that help with diahrea or only constipation. I am leary of changing her diet much, but she needs something to help her tummy settle. Also she really wants what my others are eating and I feel so bad not giving her treats.

| It definitely could be because of stress. I would give her some fiber. Pumpkin would be great

| Bless your heart, 5 dogs with diahrrea at one time. You can also give her Rolaids for the upset stomach. Annie was 5 lbs and I would give her 1/2 to 1 whole Rolaid, depending on if she'd take it all. Just break it in two and offer it too her like a treat. The can pumpkin has always worked good for me to firm up loose stools.

| Pumpkin How do you feed pumpkin? I have a standard size can, but do not know what to do? Star has diarrhea frequently, the vet suggested changing to a prescription food. Now, I am feeding chicken & rice, with 1/8 of a pepto tab. It should clear up, as it always does. |

| Seems strange but natural pumpkin (not the kind you use for pie that has spices) will help with constipation or diarrhea. Hope she is ok, you are so great to be taking care of her and I know she couldn't be in better hands.

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | I think that some bland food of boiled chicken and rice are good for her tummy. My guess is that at night she gets to missing michiko much more and that is why it's affecting her as much. During the day she figures she is off at a play date and then at night when no mamma is here to pick her up she gets stressed.

| Pumpkin The can I have is 100% pure pumpkin/Libby's, no spices, etc. I bought it because I read last year, that someone on YT recommended Pumpkin for their tummies. Presently, I am giving Star the "bland diet" of chicken & rice, until I decide what food to buy. It is all so confusing, everyone has a different brand of food to recommend. LAD & Star Does Haruka ever come to NYC? Last year I met Japanese ladies' in Central Park and they own about five "little" yorkies between them? |

| When I use pumpkin for my girls, I only give about a tablespoon (they are around 5 lbs). Works like a charm!!!!! Sending healing wishes to Haruka, and the rest of the girls!!!!

| Central Park & Pumpkin So, do you recall meeting Star & I at the Central Park Coffee area? Also, Star is 3lb., shall I just open the can and give her a bit straight up? LAD&Star |

I didn't head to the park. Actually Michiko's hotel was down the block from my job so she walked over and we sat and hung out for an hour or so.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Thanks for all the advice. It is strange that she is only having it at night Bizzymammabee. I have been grooming her at night as I do my others and she seems to not like that so I am going to stop grooming her for awhile and see if that helps. Today she seems more relaxed and running with the others so hopefully her tummy will settle down too. I sure could use some sleep!!lol I did give her some pumpkin so hopefully that will help. She is such a well bahaved little girl. She always goes on the pee pads even with the diahrrea and listens so well. Michiko takes her everywhere and has taken her to NY a lot but she only has Haruka so it probably wasn't her you saw. Thanks for the support I am a worrier and want to make Haruka as comfotable as possible. She sleeps right next to me, and my girls have been so good with her too. They haven't even been fighting with each other!!

Her anxiety is worst at night. During the day she can run and play and lose herself in the pack. Then you figure the night time it's like it's time to sleep where is mamma.
