| Well here I am With a whine about high vet costs Took my yorkie Toto in to have his teeth checked as I didn't like the looks or the smell of his mouth. Well it happens that he has 2 misaligned teeth that have caused an infection and need to come out. As well as this his teeth need cleaning. Of course we need antibiotics for the infection before he can have this done. Final cost....... $765..... Canadian. Of course the cost can't stand in the way of my Toto's health, so on Monday bright and early in he goes. But still the cost for cleaning and teeth pulling is not that much, it's the extras. Holy smoke, how do people with more than one furbaby afford it. |

| Wow, and you got off easy. Our pug dog's dental last year was $1065 Canadian. She had several teeth extracted though. I am diligent about brushing their teeth now. I don't want another bill like that!

| And I thought my former vet was expensive! I paid $500 one year ago to have my shih-tzu's teeth cleaned and 2 teeth pulled. That was one reason I found a new vet, and than God, I now have one that is less expensive, and is a much better vet as well!

| My baby needs some teeth pulled and the bill for pulling the teeth, a spay and nose surgery was 800$ for everything but I am not going to be doing everything so it should be about 200-300$ for just the teeth, canadian. where do you live in canadaÉ |

| wow, that's pretty expensive. but at least it's all taken care of. i was going to say our teeth cost a lot more to fix when/if we get cavities, but i guess you guys have national health care that would take care of that for you i have a quick question about brushing doggie's teeth. i have heard that if the dog is eating a raw diet, then they dont' need their teeth brushed because of the enzyms from the raw meat will take care of it...is that true, does anyone know? (also, i give her denta bone and chewing sticks that are supposed to help with teeth cleaning. is that good enough?) thank you!

HOWEVER, Nomatter what you feed. YOu should still brush there teeth at least 3 times a week. Orkies are known for so many gum diseases and horrible teeth. Its just not worth the risk. | |

| It's ridiculous. It costs more for our furbabies to get care then our skin babies.

| I have 6 furbabies and let me tell you. I'm a shopaholic, but I've given up many a to-die-for dress and must-have shoes for the sake of my babie's health. They're worth it, but I understand your pain. Sometimes the money eats you alive!

| That is very high, so sorry to hear that. I hope it all goes well for you.. Gucci and I wish you the best! Gucci has to have his ALL of his baby teeth pulled if they don't fall out soon .. for that and Neutering as well as his dew claws being removed, if we decide to neuter him will be $498 total and that includes all the meds to go home and his follow up etc. For the teeth alone it will be $150 for everything. |

| Oh, yeah. That sounds 'bout right. I'm in Alberta. Just the teeth cleaning for my cat is $500 and that didn't include all the extras. I have two cats, my yorkie baby, and my terrier mix. Last year we spent thousands of dollars in vet care. I just spent $400 on my old cat in the last two weeks, because we found out he has hyperthyriodism,, plus he's got an infection, treatable, and for the idione treatment if he's in good enough health with no underlying problems will cost $2300. It's crazy sometimes, but in the end it's all totally worth it. |
