| worms and butt scooting So my yorkie has worms and I gave him a pill prescribed by the vet. After a few days, I haven't seen any worms in his poo, but his poop has become soft and not as firm. Well, this morning, I saw him scooting his butt on the floor. I read somewhere on here that butt scooting can be due to worms. My question is, do I need to get his anal glands extracted, or will his poop eventually firm up and I don't need to have his anal glands extracted? |

| Samson scooted because he had poop stuck to the hair by his behind. Once removed and hair trimmed, he was fine. Samson was on medication for tape worms but it didn't affect his poop. Call your vet and ask. |

Scooting is also a sign of needing to express the anal glands!
