| ears smell hey everyone! snickers ears dont smell REALLY bad to the point where it is unbearable, but his ears do have a slight odor to them. He's had this ever since he was a puppy, I've taken him to the vet and the vet has never said anything about it, I do clean his ears with these wipes every time I bathe him, I'm not sure if it is normal to have ANY odor at all his ears.. or are ears NOT supposed to have any smell to them whatsoever? If so.. I think I need to take Snickers to a new vet then.. oh yeah and if this helps, he rolls on the ground sometimes and rubs his ears on the carpet.. let me know what you guys think! I wanna make sure he's healthy!!! |

| It sounds like he may have a yeast infection in the ears. If you can get a flashlight and look into his ears, if it is a yeast infection you will be able to see black gunk down in the ear. My Cody went through it in one of his ears and the vet said that it was probably from all of the hair in his ears. His hair is very thick and I never plucked it. Has your baby been on antibiotics recently? They will sometimes cause a yeast infection too. My vet gave me drops to put into his ears 2x a day and within a couple of days they were cleared up and smelling much better.

| Ya that sound like ear infection to me too. Make sure to dry his ear properly after the bath. You vet should of detect the infection right away! Are you sure about him? I would go for a second opinion. |

| Maybe it's a Snickers thing!? My Snick had the same problem. Weird smell coming, my vet told me there was wax in there and gave me some GREAT drops which when help alot. Snick's wax buildup made him itch his ears. Sometimes if you don't specify, the vet will not tell you about things. Annoying--I know. Also, the wipes will not help with the gunk that is further in the ear. Good luck.. -Vivian |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Wylie had stinky ears for the first year and 1/2 of his life. His vet kept telling me it was fine, which made no sense to me. Went to antoher vet, she thought his ears were rather gunky - and we treated w/ Entederm - ever since, no smell! So obviously he did have an infection, the poor guy.
