| Hi and welcome to YT. Personally I do not give Schatzie my Yorkie any bones. Too many dangers involved... My thinking is the world is filled with so many healthy and safe chew items for our little Yorkies that I just don't ever want to take a chance on ever giving bones.

| We usually don't any more, and if we do, it's usually a hamhock bone, or some BIG bone. Like schatzie says, shards of bone can hurt your Yorkie and little bones can sometimes be bad for them. It depends on how big they are, I'd advise against giving a puppy any bones. |

| My personal opinion is: Don;t feed them any sort of bones or any rawride. I just had a bad experience with Mojo. My aunt have him a little rawride bone, a tiny one, he only ate half. Few days later he stoped eating, was throwing up daily and had diarreah (even pooped blood). He had some sort of reaction (acute gastrites??) It broke my heart to see my little boy like this....it costed me a few hundred dollars to treat him but the worse part was seeing him like that. Not that this will happen to all dogs, but i personally think is an unecessary risk! |
