| Why why why :( I just want to vent about Mahina and her food. She's allergic to chicken and turkey, so I feed her California Natural Lamb and Rice. She does great on this, she eats it and no rubbing her face, itching her chin, and no more biting of her paws! Well, my boyfriend and I went out with some friends and I left her at his house. I fed her dinner before I left and she stayed in his room. Come back and guess what, his parents fed her. They clearly know she can't have chicken and she has allergies and the food the feed their dog is horrible! I've tried informing them, bringing samples of good food. Nope, they continue to feed Beneful (full of corn and grains), GRRRR. They've done this before and Mahina itched for a day or two, told them please don't feed her that food, and now this. My poor baby is going to be itchy! It's a wonderful gesture that they're wanting to make sure she's fed and I appreciate it, but come on. How could I go about saying not to feed her without being rude? Should I bring over a small bag of Mahina's food so if they want to feed her they could give her that instead. It really makes me upset because I'm trying so hard to keep her allergies under control. I'm at loss, I don't want to be rude. What would you do?

| If you need to leave her there again, i would always make sure you take enough food for her. Maybe you could tell them that any other food could make your pup really poorly.(although you have probably told them that already). I guess if they always want to feed her when she stays, i would probably hold back on her meal till she gets there and they can feed her them selves (but with the food YOU have provided). If they continue to give her food that you dont want her to have, i would seriously have to think about whether i would let them care for her again. Its nice that they want to make sure she isnt hungry, but you are the one who has to pick up the pieces when she is unwell afterwards. Good luck! |

| well, they really like your baby, that's why they want to feed her don't hold it against them, some people are like that with allergies. i used to be like that. i didn't believe in all the allergies that my fiance had. i had to make him suffer through stuff and get sick from it before i realized it's real. (it's hard for people without allergies to understand some of the allergies that people have) sorry...some people are a little slower than others to catch on anyways, i would suggest that you do bring food for them to feed your baby. and if they continue to feed the wrong food. try to throw their food away so that they only have your food (the good food!) that they can feed to your BABY!!!

| I would give them a small bag of her food. Be thankful that she only itches for a couple days. When Ellie's allergies flare up, she scratches for two months.

| Thanks everyone for your replies. I'm going to just bring a bag of food with a couple of servings and leave it there for them. I'll let them know that she gets really itchy, although I've told them a few times. yorkie puppie- It even seemed like his Mom didn't believe me when I said she's allergic to chicken! LOL, maybe that's the problem. Maybe she thought I was crazy LOL. EllieMay- I'm sorry about your baby. That must be so hard, I'm glad my baby only itches for a few days... I couldn't imagine two months of itching!

| I would bring the food over, and ask them please not to feed her anything else, because she gets a horrible reaction.
