| Bully Sticks Has anyone used the treat, Bully Sticks? They sound like they would be ok. My vet and breeder warned against giving Brady rawhide and I want to keep his teeth clean. Our Corky before him had terrible teeth but he would not chew on toys or good treats. In fact, when he was 1 and my grandson was born everyone would say "no" when he got near the baby's toys and then he wouldn't play with anything. Thanks Lorraine

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Yes, I give Joey Merrick Bully sticks, they are 100% digestable, he loves them and I think they do a great job helping to keep teeth free of tartar. We also use the Petzlife gel a couple of times a week and that's said to soften tartar, and I think the chewing action of the treats help scape it a way. We also do the regular tooth brushing.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I always hate it when someone ask that, it's called a beef tendon, it's actually the bull penis. Merrick Pet Foods - Dog Treats Tendons You can find them on e-bay for really good prices, but it's hit and miss. Remember any company can call it a Bully stick beware of companies that don't say where the beef comes from, many companies are out sourcing to China, and Merrick is USA made. The drying process is very important.

| Thanks - where do you buy them? I looked online and they are so expensive - like $3 each. How about flossies? I saw those mentioned here on Yorkie talk one time. We are very faithful about brushing Brady's treats and will have to try the gel you mentioned. I am also retired and have 2 grown sons and a daughter in law and 2 grandsons 25 and 14. Wish we lived closer as we have some things in common. I live in Florida. Lorraine and Brady

| I haven't checked ebay yet but will do it. Right now it is 11 pm. and I still have to balance my checkbook before I go to bed. Yuk. What does joining YAP entail besides joining on Yorkie Talk? Is there a fee? I sent a donation in back in Oct. and I think it was for that. Maybe I'm a member??? Lorraine

By the way, I didn't see any good deals on e-bay tonight, they also sell them on Amazon, and maybe you can find them there. I know you can find them for less then $3.00.

Her favorite, though, are the Merrick (curly) Flossies. She LOVES these!! Her first one was finished in 3 days. Now, though, they last much longer. That's because Lexi will carry one around, crying, looking for the "perfect" spot to store it. Then, it may stay in storage for days and days. On occasion, I will just find one laying in the middle of the floor, but most of the time, it is very important for her to hide them. Her crate, and the laundry basket are two of her favorite spots. And then once in a while, I will actually see her chewing on one! She's got probably 3 or 4 now, but I wouldn't know because they are all hidden. | |

| I guess I read it wrong - I thought you said you got them on ebay. Just checked the YAP members and I am not there. You said a Bully stick will last Joey a week? How do you get it away from him each day?????? Lorraine

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I did get them on e-bay, but they are private sellers, and don't sell all the time. Honestly, Joey seems to be chewing on them all the time, and I never take them away. He loves for me to hold them for him when we're laying in bed. I'll hold them till my hand get sore.

| I have always told people not to buy from a pet store and even some of the breeders aren't reputable. I did a lot of research before getting Brady and a breeder here in Florida told me about a breeder in Tennessee who used to live in Florida and that is where I got him. She has a web site showing where her dogs live and it looks like a hotel!! Her husband brought him down to us so we didn't have to go to Tennessee and I never would have put him on a plane in baggage. We fly with him but he goes under the seat in front of us and his ticket is $300. round trip!!!!!!!!! He doesn't even get Sky miles or a treat!!!!!!
