| Administring Medication The vet gave me two different kinds of meds for Suzi yesterday afternoon. They are both liquid. I am having a terrible time getting Suzi to take them. As soon as she see's the syringe she runs away! ANd then she refuses to allow me to touch her mouth and then will not hold still. What is the easiest way to give meds? I am going to wait until my son wakes up to hold her , but he will not always be able to help.

| Brooklyn did the same thing when i had to give her meds...i took a small piece of bread and soaked the meds into it. She ate the bread. Only use a piece small enough for her to eat the whole thing. Brook loves to eat, so i had no problem with her finishing it. It made the medicine thing a lot easier! Good Luck

| If you can somehow catch her, the best way is to just force open their mouth and squirt it all in very fast. That's how our vet does it. It sounds mean but it's the fastest, most efficient way. All of the other ideas are great! Before we learned how to do this with Maggie, we mixed her liquid medication with peanut butter or baby food and she would eat it that way.

| Get a piece of bread and shoot the medicing on it. Then put peanut butter on top of it, and offer it to her. She should eat it up.

♥ love my girls!! ♥ Donating Member | My aunt was giving her 4 mo. old Yorkie baby Benadryl over Xmas (she was having terrible allergies...) and hers acted in the exact same manner as the OP's. She tried syringing it in a tiny bowl, and Emma just licked it all out no problem!!! She loves food, though, so I think she'd take about anything she was offered! Putting it in bread or mashed potatoes sounds like a good idea too, but if yours will lick it up, then....waah laaaaah, problem solved with no muss! Good luck!

| Forcing Suzi to take her meds isn;t working, so i'll try these other suggestions. She loves food too, so that may work
