| My Baby got diarrhea !! Help. I dont know what happened to Mia. As far as I'm concern she has not eatedn anything strange. But she had diarrhea all day. When I got home from work I saw that she pooped all over the place. She is 4 months old. This never happened to me before. I close all the doors in the apartment and leave her in the hall there is nothing there she can eat or get into. I don't know how she got it. What should I do she looks a bit weak and down. |

| They can dehydrate very quickly from diarrhea. Puppies especially are at risk of dehydration. How much does she weigh? If she seems "weak and down" you need to call the ER vet and ask if you should bring her in tonight. Dehydration causes electrolyte imbalances which can cause cardiac arrest. It is very serious. |

| When my dogs get runny stools I start off by giving them California Natual Chicken and brown rice. it is canned food that helps with the diarrhea. If they have constant diarrhea then they must go to the vet. But as soon as I see loose stools I get this food out and I has worked well for my dogs. I get it at a very Nice dog store near by.

| Any puppy that has diarrhea needs to see the vet. This is just past vaccination time and we can't really know for sure whether they "took" in time, so it could be something very serious. Even just a stomach ache in a Yorkie pup that causes diarrhea can lead to dehydration. She can still dehydrate even if she's drinking. If she has diarrhea, lethargy and weakness, she needs to go to the ER.

| I am glad you are taking her to a vet today. Just because they are drinking, does not mean that they cannot dehydrate. It's the best decision to get her in. Please update when you get back.
