| we feed primarily Nature's Variety RAW medallions & Instinct canned. we also feed ziwi peak cuisine & canned. along with rotating a couple other RAW foods, randomly, as well! but we DO leave kibble out 24-7.. in case they do get hungry.. the kibble we are feeding now is Nature's Variety & Innova Evo. Orijen is a good kibble, as well. Dog Food Reviews - Dry Dog Foods - Powered by ReviewPost this site gives reviews on food.. 5 & 6 star foods are best (in my opinion)

| I have had Baron and Sammy on Royal Canin adult # 27 for 6 months now. They no longer have upset stomachs and /or diarrhea. They have 1 -2 small stools a day! Compared to stools almost everytime we ok them out before. We're very pleased with this brand of dog food!!! My vet thinks their coats looks better , They're much shinier and healthier looking...:dog sm2:

| I'm feeling my way around myself for kibble. Maximus was weaned on Puppy Chow, and after I found this place, I found out it wasn't a good choice. I then tried him on Canidae and I thought was a great choice, but I heard (here of course, ) that the company switched manufacturers and that their formula was changed, causing upset tummies, etc. For the record, Maximus had no problems on the Canidae. So we are getting to the end of the bag of Canidae, and I wanted to try something different. So, I got some samples of Canine Caviar that a local pet boutique recommends (and she feeds her own furbaby). I tried him on it yesterday, mixed with the Canidae and he picked the Canine Caviar out over the Canidae, so I guess he likes it. The woman at the pet boutique told me that the puppies absorb most of the Canine Caviar and that they poop less and when they do poop, the poop doesn't stink. I guess until he is on it 100%, I won't be able to confirm the previous statement.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I feed pre-made raw. But as far as kibbles - I think some good ones are Orijen, Natures Variety - and if your only choice is Petsmart/Petco, then I'd go w/ Wellness CORE. A great canned food (which is very good to add) is Evangers.

| With all of the recalls, and the lack of regulation in the Dog Food industry, I believe that the healthiest and safest feeding alternative is to home cook and supplements derived from human grade products. |

To the original poster, it has gotten to where I can't even recommend a kibble because even what I thought was one of the best has turned out to have problems and the "good" foods seem to have as many, if not more, quality control problems as the lesser quality foods. I feed homecooked.

| Crystal, Could send me the link re: bones found in NB. Was it one of their fish kibble? Ground fish seems to be the problem no matter which "good" name brand is used. Bob |

avery had a similar problem.. we feed primarily the venison formulas.. since the fat content is not as high... and no more problems! nature's variety is a great food, in my opinion.
