| What Can I feed Besides Kibble? Gucci hasn't eaten since last night, he ate a bit of Kibble with Nutri-Cal on it at about 3 p.m and he's drinking fine .. has energy still etc. He just isn't eating. I don't know if it's because I haven't HAND FED him or if it's because he isn't feeling well.. or if he Simply isn't hungry ... but I just want to make sure he gets something in him. What is OK to feed him..? I was going to do some boiled white rice? is that Ok? can I get some ideas that are safe for him so I can make something for him. He has a vet appt Monday for a checkup so I was going to try and hold out but if I can't get him to eat by tonight I'm going to take him tmw instead. Thanks in Advance! |

| Oh You got a fussy eater too... One of mine sometimes won't eat very well too Best to stay with what they normally eat Changing it will only make matters worse and make his stomach upset or give him diarrhea if you wanna make sure that he's at least getting nutrition when he doesn't eat grab a tube of Nutri-Cal or another supplement THAT I know he won't turn down My puppies LIVE for that stuff

| White rice is fine. Boneless skinless chicken breast without seasonings or fat is fine. I bake it usually but you can boil it. Green beans, peeled and cooked potato or sweet potato and plain yogurt is also fine. Canned food may entice him also which would be better because if you homecook long-term, you will need to add vitamins.

| Your Yorkie will not let himself starve. He will eat when hungry. Giving people food and changing foods only feeds into this picky behavior (excuse the pun). I had a rough time getting Gracie to eat. When I finally stopped worrying and just put out the same thing every day, she finally gave in and ate. Just keep the Nutrical handy.

| I haven't had this problem in awhile now (thankfully), but when I'm worried my boy hasn't eaten enough, I have some special ice cubes made up. He LOVES ice cubes SOOOO much! To make them, I halfway crush up some of his normal kibble, so that there's some powder and some whole pieces in there still. I use this to fill up the ice cube tray, then pour water over all of it. I figure the kibble cubes, as I like to call them, won't mess up his digestion because it's just his regular food with water, after all. But it sure does make eating (and drinking!) a lot more fun and exciting for him if he's not really into it otherwise. Lauren & Nikko |

| My two babies eat kibble as their main food but I also give them baked chicken breast when their Daddy and I have our dinner. I'm not a fan of canned food, I had a Shih Tzu who would only eat canned food and she wound up with the worst teeth ever. Hard food helps keep their teeth clean and their breath nice.

| A half cup for the whole day should be plenty, unless he's large. Ranger ate 1/4 cup 2x per day for a year until we started raw a few months ago. If your worried about it, you could leave food out all the time which will let him eat when he wants to. I don't do that because my boys are PIGGIES and would eat till they popped!!! Careful with the nutri-cal, often times it can supress the appetite...
