| Life's Abundance users please weigh in I recently switched foods from California Natural Lamb and Rice to Natural Balance. While using the CN their stools were firm and they only went twice a day. Now that they are on NB their stools are soft, loose and they go several times a day. I also home cook veggies with either chicken or beef and I put that over their dry food...when I was only giving them the home cooked food their stools were firm and they only went twice a day but when it's put over the NB dry food everything changes and we're cleaning up all day long. My goal here is to find a quality dry food that does not contain Rosemary, ethoxyquin, BHA, MSG or BHT in any forms. I enjoy home cooking and it isn't really hard to do but I need a dry food for them so if we're gone or they have to be boarded they can eat something they are used to. I know Life's Abundance is supposed to be good but I haven't really heard from anyone who just uses it and doesn't sell it. Can someone give me a little help here? I'm tired of changing things and I'm really tired of reading and comparing labels only to find that my dogs aren't really getting all the nutrition promised because they're pooping all day! What about Canidae, Wellness or the other premium foods...how is their stool with these? What about their skin and coat? CN is supposed to be for their coat and skin but honestly, I wasn't impressed. |

| I'd like to be able to give Ellie kibble when I'm gone all day but I just gave up on that. The minute I start giving it to her, I'm sure I'll find something wrong with it. Never tried LA, so no help there but I don't really think it is a great or bad food. Canidae is now made at Diamond. I personally would try and stay away. There are some reports of Wellness causing stool issues on YT lately but for those it does work for, they seem to really like it. If it has been a week or two on the NB and they aren't doing well, I'd definately switch. Maybe find a food without all the things that you don't want like rosemary and just add fish oil and vitamin e for their coats? Finding one without all of those ingredients AND that gives them nice coats is probably going to be very difficult.

| I personally don't like LA because it contains beet pulp which is a controversial ingredient (kinda like garlic) and if i was going to feed a kibble i like to stay away from any item or brand that is controversial. Beet pulp is not a necessary ingredient (considering many foods don't contain it) so I can't figure out why they include it. |

| We feed Wellness Core and we love it! Coats are shiny and poops are small, firm, and twice a day.

| Lily has been eating LA for about 3 weeks now and she seems to be doing fine on it. I don't sell it!! I don't know alot about the ingredients etc and I only have one dog and she is 8 months old so I am not up on things like alot of people on this site. Her poop is fine on the LA and she eats it good and I put that stuff in her water and her breath is alot better. She seems like she is healthy and she eats the dry kibble real well that is about all I know so far about it. If anyone else knows anything that is bad I hope they post it but so far so good for me. I like that it comes in the mail and you don't have to go look at all that food and not know what is good or not!! The cost of it isn't anymore than others I have bought at the Petco etc. I hope this helps you. It is hard to know what to feed them. I never had so many "choices" and didn't know any better I guess with my dogs before?? My poodle ate Iams for years and did fine ... she lived 19 years!! Who knows if it is the "dog food" anymore or what?? |
