| 10 weeks and Neuterd LIL question.. My junior got neuterd when he was 10 weeks old and still with the breeder. I spoke to my vet and she said that there wasnt anything wrong with it and i gave the go ahead to have it done.. he is now 14 weeks old and he squats when he pees... will he ever lift his leg or becasue he was neutured earlier than 6 months he will squat always???? Im hoping its just that he is only 14 weeks old and i wont happen to much much later but this newbie mom would like to know, as far as the potty training its going good, he is getting the hang of it.... |

| Dont worry he will lift his leg when he get's a little older, My Rocky did that too. He uses wee wee pads in my apt and he squats and when we go outside he lifts his leg. so dont worry give him time he will lift his leg.

| Not all male dogs lift their legs to pee. My boys only lift their leg when they mark and both of them are almost 2 years old. My golden (RIP) squatted until the day he died 3 months ago.

| I like the squatting male myself. I have my only male trained to pee pads, he was neutered the day after I brought him home at 5 1/2 mos. He doesn't actually squat, but, he goes and gets in the middle of the pee pad and stands, he actually aims better than the girls. He will occasionally lift it outside on the trees or a bush when he's out there playing, but, then when he comes back in, he goes back to the way that I want him to go. A lot of males when they get fixed before they start lifting their legs never start lifting, which to me is an excellent thing. My sons yorkie was neutered after he started lifting his leg(neutered at 5 1/2 mos, but, started lifting before), and he's always lifting it here and there in the house, told my son, if it was my dog, he would be in a new home. Be thankful he's not lfiting it |

| be grateful he is not lifting his leg to pee. You don't have to worry about him peeing on the corners of your furniture and etc. Oh, what I would give for a male that squats!!!!!!!! |

| LOL ok thats good that my boy is right on schedule... I do like that he squats now.. people call him a girl..lol when they see that..hahaha...so i figure if he starts lifting the lifting the leg they would know he is a boy... and i just wanted to make sure i made a good choice with the neutering at 10 weeks.. | He might never lift his legs. Meeko is now 14 months and still squats. I've never seen him lift. It's more of a learned behavior. If you take him out a lot, like to a pet door or dog park where other dogs will be, he might pick up up. I kind of wish he would lift his leg. The pee just falls and his paws get soaked with pee. It's such a pain to wash his paws a bunch of times per day. But then again, I've never had to worry about markings.

| Tbone was neutered early and he squats, and he is 3.5 years old. I've seen him lift his leg about an inch off the ground maybe 3 times ever. He still marks outside some, but he squats to do it. It is true that his aim is better, he is really good about keeping it on the potty pad. And he never marks in my home. He doesn't squat like a girl either, girl dogs get into a deeper squat. It is almost like he is just trying not to pee on himself. I have ALWAYS been thankful that Tbone was neutered early. Congrats on the little boy, and welcome to YT! Me and my boy are best buds, I love him to pieces. I know you two will have an awesome relationship like ours!

| I've got 2 girls that lift their legs, just enough to keep their feet from getting pee on them. Like I said, my boy doesn't squat, he stands but just leans over. I love it! |
