| Science Diet Natures Best Puppy Food I sometimes see someone say during a post that this food is no good. It seems like it would be to me and I have my pups on it. I really need to know if there have been many bad experiences with it so I can change brands. I would really appreciate some input. Thanks! |

| I don;t know if anybody has had problems with it...what i do see a lot of people saying, including myself, is that it is not the best food! You can get better for about the same price...

| I think you just need to read the labels and see what the ingredients is are is what I have been told. You don't want corn or a lot of meal but rather real meat, etc. |

| Exactly, by reading and understanding the igredients a little better you can make a better choice. I don;t mind by products that much if i could see exactly what they use...usually it is all the parts that humans don;t eat (tongues, feet, tail...) Also dogs come from wolves and they eat meat so that should be the main igredient A high protein level does not guarantee that it is a good quality food...remember that it is quality and not quantity the counts? Another thing that bothers me are the presevartives used to keep the food fresh, a few have been linked to cancer...

| maisy LOVES science diet!! our vet recommends it, but the obiedence people don't but said since she loves it and the vet says its good then its okay. The reason the obidence people dont like it though is because they want us to buy food from them and they dont sell science diet. |

| Actually I did read the ingredients and thought it sounded good. Vets recommend it quite a bit. Corn is the 5th ingredient. I used to feed Iams thinking that was good, but apparently it isn't either. I've been researching other foods, but when you go to their websites, of course you only get the good feedbacks abput that particular brand and negatives about others. I have read a lot of negative comments even on Royal Canin. I thought about switching to Nutro, but have heard negative about that too. I just want to start out right this time and keep it going for good health and well being. |

| I've had several vets tell me science diet is pretty bad in terms of ingredients. There are worse but it's bad. I have been recommended Innova food and it's wonderful. All of the ingredients are whole, with no corn and it even has fruits and veggies.

| I have heard that the thing with Science Diet is that it offers many scholarships and they really help out vets and vet schools and in exchange lots of them endorse their products. IMHO, between Science Diet, Proplan, Royal Canin, Eukanuba and Nutro i'd rather stick to nutro...BUT for the same price (or maybe only a few dollars difference) i can buy Canidae, Innova, Wellness...which are healthier foods, it is definately worth it. And believe me you can tell the difference, i used all 5 brands and with canidae i can trully tell the difference.

| I am starting mine on the Raw Diet by natural Balance since I am now taking my dogs to the vet who designed it. If you google Natural Balance raw you will find the pet food stores in your area that carry it. You feed an organic kibble for one meal and then the second meal you mix the Raw food with the kibble. |

| www.mordanna.com/dogfood there's my friends website, she does research on all this type of stuff for dogs. You might find it interesting. You can learn a thing or two about what ingredients to avoid in dog food, how does your brand measure up etc. in my opinion, science diet is not even in the same category as the high quality foods. if you do a search, someone had posted a list of 2005 top quality foods. good luck and best wishes! |

| Ok, thanks everyone. I just read today that "Welness" made a lot of dogs vomit after eating it. That is interesting about the kick back from Science Diet. |
