| URRRRRRRR fleas :( Right about now I am soooo pissed at the neighbors....I have never had flea bites or probs with fleas and out pets since I was a kid( the neighbors had a dog with mange and other issues very sad....) anyhow at our new place (I say new but it has been 3 years) anyhow we have never had fleas and I like to think I keep a pretty clean house well we are in a duplex and share a back yard (but we keep Gidget and my son in the front to play (that way I know what is there and that) anyhow my son went in the back with his bike and left the gate open so Gidget followed him back and they played back there for a few mon....I figured it wuldnt hurt anything) WRONG.....I now have ankles covered in fleabites and I found one that day on Gidget....I killed and that didnt see her scratching so I figured everything was fine......now she is scratching and I have more bites now And the neighbors dont seem to mind either.......they are rather 1/2 assed anyhow but damn....how can you not tell or care that you have fleas? So now I have to deflea my house and im itching non stop......I was also wondering what is the safest flea control......I am going to have to go get some befoer we go bonkers....Gidget gets a bath every week so do products like frontline and that stay on with baths and water play? I know there was a thread a while back but i cant find it (or im just lame) |

| i had the same thing happen - I had to spray my house, my yard and have harley bathed - all the same day and then I applied frontline on the 3rd day. I have never had fleas either. I know they are around but never have had a problem. Harley got so many bites I had to give him the children's benadryl. Hope you get rid of your fleas soon! harley's mom |

| I donnou if i got it right...you think you have fleas in the back yard but not in the frontyard? If it is so...i doubt it, fleas and ticks are very resourcefull to get to where they want to be. If possible i would spray the garden and backyard, it will not only kill fleas but will keep many insects away as well. Frontline will not wash off, it goes in the blood stream since it is absorved by the skin so don;t worry about that option. For the home you can use foggers, sprays, powders and even solutions to clean the floor. You can also wash Gidget blankets and beds with hot water. Hope it helped...

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I have a fenced in yard and I ALWAYS spray 6 feet into my neighbors yards...they know it and I never do it if their dogs are out - but it really works and we only had fleas when Chanel came to us from her breeder and I licked that problem immediately- Good luck - once you get them they can be hard to get rid of but with persistance you can - |

| I meant to tell you guys that walmart is now selling Frontline but you have to go to the pharmacy and ask for it. I am not sure of the price someone might want to check that out. Also I have found that if you put moth balls in your vaccuum bags it will help in the house. If your vacuum sucks them up the moth balls kill them. But you do need to change the bag every time you do this. The best vacuum for fleas is the rainbow vacuum.

| I think the key is the be diligent with treating the yard and the pets. This has always worked for me. Prevention is the best cure. |
