I had the scare of my life.. I want to tell all to be so careful in watching your yorkies.. Tonight Gucci who is now 7 mos. old gave me the scare of my life. She usually stays in the family room and is basically well behave, I left her alone to go upstairs in the kitchen and I heard my front door my son was outside. At the same moment I heard a thump. I got up to see what my son was doing outside, and turned to look down into family room, and I see Gucci motionless on her back with her legs straight up stiff. I went hystercial screaming and crying my son came in and we both thought she was dead. The most horrible feeling. Thanks be to God I brought her to a local vet and she started coming out of it. She is fine, the vet said she must have hit her head really hard and it knocked her out like the football players. He gave her anti imflaturory pills for blood clot and he said she looks find, she was in no pain and was walking around his office great.. This happen so quickly so please watch them if they climb. God made her survive and I am so thankful to have her home with us tonight. I hope the rest of the week she has no problems I have to keep an eye on her.

| Oh no, it took my breath away just reading your story over Gucci. Thank God she is ok... Im not understanding what she fell from? Did she fall down the stairs? We have stairs here and Schatzie runs faster than life down them so it scared me to think that Gucci may have fallen down the stairs... But bottom line is I am so happy to hear that she is ok....I am sure your heart skipped a beat over this episode...

Oh my goodness. That happened to Lexi 2 weeks ago. She was playing with her favorite toy. We have hardwood floors and as she was running along she suddenly went up on her back legs and fell back so hard the noise her head made when it hit the floor was frightening. She just laid there with her legs out stiff not moving. I know JUST how helpless you felt. I remember not know if I should pick her up on not. After about 1 or 2 minutes her eyes started to follow my voice. I rushed her to the vet who examined her and said the same thing, that she must have knocked herself out. She didn't run as much as usual for the rest of the day but thank goodness she's OK now. I'm so glad to hear you pup is well now too. It's like having a toddler around the house.

Gucci has a bad habit of jumping on my leather couch, sometimes I find her on the top of the couch laying there, she apparently lost her footing and fell about 3ft. down to my ceramic tile floor. She is sleeping now the doctor told me to expect this tonight, just keep an eye on her for the next few days. I can't believe this happen. I have been holding her and hugging . Thank you for your well wishes, and please keep her in your prayers for the next few days that she will be ok...

i sympathize with you i really do...... but the way you described it made it seem a little funny (now that she is ok anyways, if she wasnt ok ide be mortified..... but seem as hwo she is fine so far........) watch out for any neurological problems (legs not working correctly, a little off balance, uncontrollable shaking.......) and make sure she gets lots of cuddles!

What a scare! Glad to hear Gucci is okay! One time, we closed a sliding door in the kitchen, and Yoda was used to it being open all the time, so he comes FLYING around the corner, and we heard a hard THUMP! Poor guy was a bit dazed, but he came out of it shortly.

GucciMyGirl, wow that's scary! This is a bit off topic, but I have a leather couch on lay-away at the furniture store. Does Gucci's nails puncture holes in your couch? Does she claw at it? Thanks!

That is terrifying. My pups name is Gucci also. My gucci likes to run all over the house and that scares us because more that once she has stop very close to the wall. Our neighbor had a pup not a yorkie thou, I believe it was a bullldog. Anyway, his dog died cause he ran into the wall, so when we see Gucci running like that we try to slow her down. Im glad that Your Gucci is fine. Please keep us posted of how she is doing.

Hi everyone... Thank you so much for your well wishes, Gucci is much better tonight, this morning the pill didnt agree with her and she threw up, the doctor told me to give her a quarter I guess her little body cant tolerate it well. She is eating and walking pretty good, she still not 100 percent but the dr. said she had a bad head tramua and to expect this for a few days.I couldnt sleep most of the night checking on her and rehashing the incident.I cry everytime I think I could have lost her. So I am not leaving her alone for one moment. She is one lucky puppy, she has an angel on her side. As for answering the question about the leather couch she hasnt ripped it as of yet. But I am always telling her to get down. Now I am keeping her away from my love seat for that is where the accident occured it is not against the wall. Thank You Guys your the best!!! Gina

Soooo glad little Gucci is doing good. Our Waya is a jumper deluxe. Nothing is too high for him. He jumped on top of the patio chair then on the back. Waya jumped off - he thought it was soft like in the house. Well, it wasn't. His little tongue sticks out most of the time and I guess when he hit the concrete, his head popped down and he bit his tongue. He ran around screaming and hubby and I were so worried he had hurt himself badly. He was okay and we sure watch him now. He acts like an idiot sometimes. We have three steps to come in the house and he will run up them not caring how he lands on the steps - he just keeps on coming.
